sailor is percy's "adopted" teenage daughter, who was rescued by him one night she ran out of her abusive household, in which he "temporarily" took her in, before they both soon realized she wasn't going back. percy has a firey but anxious personality, and her deflective front is to protect how vulnerable she truly is. as a therapist living initially by himself, percy appears to be an ordinary single man, but much repressed in himself is brought out in a flurry of emotion by sailors whims. their relationship develops much farther than either of them can admit to anybody else
