Pika Lake is in the Central Sierra Nevada Mountains of California. I spent a night there while backpacking in summer of 2009. When I came to the pass above the lake and saw this sign, I couldn't resist. There IS a real animal called a pika(Ochotona princeps) that's native to our mountains, and it's a lagomorph(rabbits, hares, etc), contrary to the Pokemon character.
