this comic is a little...unnerving...I DONT MEAN TO THROW BS AT IT. i do understand it is an adult oriented comic, and no actual minors are in harm's way in any form or shape, and i know comics and media dont brainwash people into commiting criminal acts, stupid people badly educated commit criminal acts. that i toitally understand.
but this comic has a sort of mood to it. maybe it's the color palette, or maybe how slow burn the story is so far. but it feels a little too "uncanny valley" to me, O LORD, PLEASE UNDERSTAND, I AM OK WITH THE COMIC, ERN'S ART IS ALWAYS A DELIGHT TO SEE. but yeah, this time, the author changed the pacing and speed of the story, and the tone, this comic feels a lil more dark than other works, the change is gladly welcome. but having it so unannounced kinda hit me.
maybe it's dad's struggle to not hump her daughter silly, or how he is shown as a lonely and depressed man, widowed or divorced, for an adult oriented furry comic, it is kinda dark, but well driven so far.
sorry for the slow unasked for review :) keep up the amazing work.

LOL, agree. again, i didnt mean to troll or anything, is just that ern stories usually are more lighthearted and silly, the change is interesting, and i want to see the rest of the story and art. it is good when authors work outside their comfort zone.

yep. as long as it is fictional, i am all ok with it. and again, i love ern's art style and storytelling. he actually made me love cub adult stories. so, not complaining at all.

Well that's the point of stories. all things aren't sunshine and rainbows.
thou Uncanny Valley is normally reserved for things don't meet your disbelieve like a 20 foot hologram of 2pac hovering on a stage... Obviously he's not real cuz he's fucking massive and floating in the air... humans don't float.
not exactly sure how your applying it to here... maybe with the character backgrounds?... thou if you look deeply at fan theories... it's kind'a what people think happen. so i don't know. maybe when more of the comic is posted, you'll enjoy more^^

is jsu that your other works, like fable's end, is so casual and funny. that seeing you explore the actual movie canon of roxanne's dad, which is very sad. is a very interesting setup for an furry comic. we usually create our own canons or distort the actual ones. you embraced the movie canon, and made it work, i know the story will lighten up in future pages, and i will stay and watch it happen :)
when i say uncanny valley, i mean it as an expression, cus, again, you are using a very sad background to make a funny story, that is a very brave choice as a writer. and i want to see how you develope the story from here, yes, i know there will be rule 34, but, i do actually enjoy the story and characters, even in rule 34 stuff.
I LOVE THE COMIC SO FAR, dont get me wrong. is jsu that your other works, like fable's end, is so
Actually uncanny valley in my understanding is when something just looks unsettling and off in some subtle way you can't quite put your finger on. It's usually reserved for things that aren't human but have human characteristics like an android or other human-esque robot. Anthro characters can also qualify. But it's the eerie sensation we get when confronted with something that isn't quite human but maybe is trying to present as human. A mannequin can qualify in media especially if it's a living mannequin, but it makes jerky movements or has other eerie behavior or appearance. Just thought I would put in my 2 cents on the uncanny valley.

This is my understanding of uncanny valley. And i feel like its something like that... but more... with how things are given in story, and the slow shift of the man, especially given our next page, it gives a sense of general unease. To me it's the underlying battle here of him trying his best and losing a battle. A battle that once he loses can NEVER be won again. And we know what he's going to do but you still hope beyond hope.
That sinking feeling of watching a man doom himself. The subtle way it's both beautifully human and horridly inhuman all at once.
That's what I thought of when he talked of uncanny valley and the tone shift. Which, tbf, i see too and love. Because that feeling can be hard to capture in 2D without movement or sound.
This is my understanding of uncanny valley. And i feel like its something like that... but more...
This is one of the cutest Roxy's I've ever seen. Her nice camel toe and mound combined with her cute baby fat stature. I know her Dad wants to take care of her but I'm hoping he loses most of his control and gets a bit wild with his eager pup, after all she's the one volunteering.
