We have a development! The title says it all!
STORY:
Over the past few months, Caedyn has truly learned to cherish his strong friendship (and attraction to) Melecia Mousemmer. There aren't too many other rodent cubs at their diverse school, and certainly no other squirrels, he being the only one of that species at their school (well, besides his older brother a few grades above).
Melecia, as a mouse, is the closest kid to his own species and one of his bestest friends too, despite being a girl and all the teasing from the other boys that it sometimes brings him.
Caedyn decides it's time, he will to ask Melecia to be his girlfriend.
He no longer cares what the other boys might think, or what his parents might say.
Gripping a #2 pencil over some scrap lined paper, he nervously jots down a short little note for her.
Caedyn folds the note into a neat little envelope shape. Almost like an origami figure! Once the classroom cleared out after the first morning lesson, and while Mel was away in the halls, he discretely slips the little folded note into her desk a few periods before recess. Perfect timing — not a soul saw it.
Will Melecia notice the note in her desk? Will she read it and meet up with him during recess?
He wanted to ask her out in private, just between the two of them.
Caedyn patiently bides the time between now and recess. The minutes felt like hours. The hours felt like days.
He even memorized what he was going to say too, hoping he wouldn't fumble his words.
Caedyn worried his little heart would be utterly shattered if she turned him down.
SenZ and indeed many would be excited for how this goes! Hopefully Mel says yes!!!
