Vanguard's revenge.
A bridge not burned.
Vanguard's revenge.
Don't hate me everyone, I used real sky in the backgrounds of this page. I wanted to get the right hue of blue, depending on the direction of the viewer. Everything else is my own digital stuff though.

Remember folks, Chucky failed this lesson the first time not because of a rough landing, but because he missed the runway entirely. Ian also got in trouble for that, but it's not included here because it's not part of Chucky's story.

I don't, sorry. Sucks when a good reference goes over someone's head.

hmm taking trig and worried about physics.  I guess aviation majors arent particularly good at math then.  Or at least these two arent.
Chucky

Their physics teacher is a hard-ass.

actually Physics is a branch of science, not math, they seem to be pretty good at maths, im good at physics myself (and most sciences as well)
Chucky

Heh heh, maths. Sometimes the tough part is applying the math to the science. It took me while to get a lot of that stuff down right.

personally i didn't even realize you used a paste in sky till your description mentioned it, you did a great job making it look natural to your art style

Thanks! I'd feel bad if I didn't admit my guilt.

PHYSICS!!
Also YAY Chucky 'cause he passed!
And don't worry 'bout using real images. It's the story
that's important and believe me you're NOT the first one
who does this. ;D *knowing wink* ;D
Chucky

Thanks. It's actually not the first time I've used sky in the background either. I just felt like it might be more obvious in this one.

Shame on me, I had to look that word up! You'd think that as much as a tree hugger that I am, I would have known the definition.

no tree hugging is next semester in forest measurements...

teachers that are dicks.... who can forget them?

No one, you just hope that they aren't the ones that make the biggest impressions.

having male teacher that are dicks have been nice for me.  I've knocked profs like that off of their high horses with proof and they were pissed to give me passing marks

Heheh, the use of sky's good to go still, and I was waiting for another page as well as everyone else.  Tis good to see progress, and I wonder how their studies are going to go from here.

Thanks for the share.
Chucky

Oh believe me, the studies will start taking center stage soon.

I've used real skies in illustrations. Don't worry too much. I called it a feature; I needed a realistic late-evening sky, with the fade from pale to deep blue, and my attempts at drawing it looked like light on a ceiling dome, so I chopped a section out of a photo and modded it.

fucking physics, I hated it in High School I still hate it now.

Yeah, if you hadn't told us you used photos, I wouldn't have had any clue.

Love the teacher impression. We had a horrible teacher in high school, too, can never remember her name but I think she was genuinely unbalanced. She, unfortunately, didn't have any defining characteristics that could lead to caricatures - you could yell really loudly, but one of the best teachers, as well as the (awesome) principal, could (and did) yell louder than she did. She did, however, flunk me for not writing in cursive, something I never learned with any degree of skill, and basically told the principal to "f off" (in nicer terms, but only barely) when he told her to grade my papers anyway.

Eager to see an illustration of Vanguard. My physics teacher was a jerk, too, but he wasn't that nuts. Just terse and sharp.
Chucky
11 years, 5 months ago
Honestly, terse and sharp is a good way to describe Dr. Vanguard, but in the eyes of these college freshman we could probably add a dozen or so more words to the description.

While everybody hates the hard-ass teacher, sometimes those are the ones you really learn from. At least, I did with my 11th-grade English teacher.

Also, are you sure that's real sky...? It blended in so well that I didn't notice. I was too busy looking for where Chucky the skunk cheated, I guess. XD
Chucky
11 years, 5 months ago
My hard-ass engineering profs were pretty awesome. And honestly, they were only hard-ass in the sense that they didn't give you any slack. You couldn't be a screw up.

Yes, the sky is real, from photographs. I tried the best I could to blend it with the foreground.

Luckily in comp science I wasn't required to take physics. DODGED A MAJOR BULLET. Couldn't avoid Calculus II though.....ugh the nightmares....
Chucky

If you had taken computer engineering, you probably would have had to take physics.
