Running away from a stalker bot that's hellbent on capturing both Amy and Lily under Eggman's orders (Even though the robot is only after the chaos emerald the bird has), Amy still stubbornly finds time to date Sonic and bring him into Twinkle Park, despite that a literal stalker bot chasing her everywhere.

Within Twinkle Park (which has a solid soundtrack) and the beginning of Amy's first gameplay level task you with protecting yourself and Flicky from a robot sent from Eggman that stalks you everywhere you go and will occasionally approach you to attack. The robot can be attacked, but hitting him too much will generally piss him off where he becomes completely invulnerable to all of Amy's attacks which will then force the player to get away from him as fast as possible to another location which calms him down since he picks up both speed and power.

Now to the point of the picture, the damn Mirror Room, "aka Fakery Way."

Fakery Way has the most disturbing soundtrack throughtout SA1 because it gives the player as Amy the sense of a stalker always nearby. It's a very short soundtrack, but enough to give some amount of fear to most listeners. Challenge, listen to the whole soundtrack with headphones on until it cycles back....

I wanted to draw the entire gameplay scene of Amy escaping the stalker bot by creating a sense of fear for her and Lily as he pops out from various angles in the room and corridors, even placing traps and such for Amy. Amy can defend herself just fine, but the robot proves too much for her to handle regardless of her abilities as she and Lily still end up getting captured in the end. Thankfully Amy shows independence and bravery after the bird gets hurt by the robot and completely demolishes him in the final confrontation between them, marking her first step at the time towards not relying on Sonic to do everything for her or rescuing her all of the time. (HRRM HRRM! She still blatantly attacks Sonic in Sonic Heroes...)

Amy's gameplay throughout her very short story in Sonic Adventure is one I thought I'd never see in a Sonic game. You as Amy run away from a stalker in each level while protecting the blue Lily the Flicky bird who Amy promised to reunite her with her family. It was a surprise, but it was good because it taught Amy how to stand up for herself without always calling in Sonic for help.

I've been thinking of starting a meme.  Something like this:

What the media think a stalker is: Amy Rose
An Actual Stalker: ZERO

Amy should be the best stalker honestly.

Before or after her flanderization?

Since she was following Sonic due to a tarot card reading, before.

And people complain that SEGA changed her.  No more flanderization.

Oh to add to this, Zero is definitely a top stalker, but Amy is right there next to him with how much she stalks and follows Sonic everywhere...until she mellowed down in Sonic Colors up to Frontiers.

Again, you can blame the writers for flanderizing your favorite characters.  From making Knuckles dumb to making Tails a complete tool.

Again? "You never really specified that first while we were talking, but yeah we're in an age where many incompetent developers have already been doing this. Forgetting about their own characters, dumbing them down to buffoons when they never were that way, replacing them with others or killing them off, but they'll make sure to keep non-important characters around (Big the Cat............)

That's my bad.  At this point, I feel like a broken record.  Because only in recent years, have writers and developers started respecting the characters again, specifically Amy.  Like making her a playable character in Sonic Origins Plus.  Imagine how far her character growth would've gone if SEGA had done this in the 90s.

Agreed. Yeah they finally started giving her, Tails and Knuckles more recognition because they've lately been doing that to Sonic only and Shadow as the second. Amy is also in Sonic Superstars instead of being some unlockable character. I seriously hate how game companies do that which is why I like Mario games mostly because Nintendo will give recognition to a lot of the characters instead of just Mario.

Yeah, and she became instant friends with Trip.  But that's always been a part of her nature.  She can bond with strangers on a personal level and push them to be better people.

You mean like how Princess Daisy became playable in Super Mario Bros. Wonder?  I wish they added Waluigi to the character roster in the WarioWare games.

Yeah it took Nintendo THAT long for her to finally be playable in a game that wasn't a sports game or kart game. Peach for example is coming out with another game starring her as the MC soon for the Switch. Wario has a few of his own games. Luigi does. There are many adventure games too where multiple playable characters are present.

Waluigi the true god needed his own game after the first Mario Tennis. He should have been in Smash too.

Yeah, Adventure had such great potential for lasting character development.

Too bad Sega and Sonic Team dropped all of it in subsequent games.

Exactly. I seriously hate how they dropped such a cool and interesting franchise just to make mediocre Sonic games save for only a few that are good. SA1, SA2 and Sonic Heroes were peak for their time and it was all just forgotten. Still no SA3, but at least we're getting more character representation in Sonic Frontiers 2.

Personally, I ended up seeing more potential for character growth, through the handheld titles more than the console juggernauts.

I'm still bitter about Chronicles being fumbled so hard by BioWare, and then axed and thrown into the Penders debacle...

We don't talk about that dumpster fire called Sonic Chronicles lol.

Shade was cool, at least... Plus, some lore explaining Emerl and the Gizoids. Beyond that, the rest was... well, not good.

Yeah, Shade was the only good thing about that game imo. I forgot about Emerl, that robot from Sonic Battle.
