One of my personal favorites, the Daedream is an arguably spooky pal. It only appears at night and in some caves, and though it isn't an outright malicious little beast, it does put those it likes into an endless sleep from which they will never be able to wake. At least it'll make sure you have good dreams? It is also useful due to its special item, a collar that allows it to remain out of its ball and fire at things you attack, like demonic little turret. Yes this applies to every daedream in your party, and yes it's useful for nuking early-game bosses. Just don't forget to have a hoocrates in your party to boost those dark-type attacks!
