During WW2, there was a shortage of men due to so many having to fight the war. Consequently, women were used to fill the roles that had previously been held by men. This included making the tools of war. On a poster, there was a drawing of a woman wearing a head bandana and a button-up shirt with the sleeves rolled up and her arm flexed. The woman was shown saying, "We can do it!" This poster was in most, if not all, of the manufacturing facilities throughout the country. It was usually posted next to the poster that read, "Loose lips sink ships."
