Tom Sawyer is a 2000 animated musical comedy film directed by Paul Sabella and Phil Mendez. Released direct-to-video on April 4, 2000, the film was produced by MGM Animation. It is the only MGM Animation production not to available exclusively through Warner Home Video worldwide. This is also the final MGM Animation film before shutdown in 2002. It is an adaptation of Mark Twain's 1876 novel The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, with a cast of anthropomorphic animals instead of humans. Most of the characters' voices are generally performed by country music singers.

Rebecca "Becky" Thatcher is the protagonist in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. She accompanies a boy named Tom Sawyer, who acts as her love interest throughout the book, she is the judge's daughter

Becky Thatcher, while playing a prominent role throughout the events of the original novel, is not seen again throughout any other subsequent sequels.

Becky is the daughter of Judge Thatcher, and she is known for her love interest with Tom Sawyer. Her long blonde hair is always worn in braids. She wins Tom's love from the first moment he sees her. When Becky first encounters Tom, she gives him a pansy to show her love. Becky Thatcher soon becomes "engaged" to Tom Sawyer, sealing their engagement with a kiss on the lips. When Tom mentions that he used to be with Amy Lawrence, Becky believes that Tom still loves her and gets angry at him. Tom wins her back by telling a lie and taking the blame for her vandalizing their teacher's anatomy book, which Becky had accidentally ruined.

Amy Lawrence is Becky Thatcher's rival for most of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, and dislikes Becky. Amy is Tom's first love, but is swept from his thoughts the moment he sees Becky. After a little slip-up from Tom, he returns to Amy to make Becky jealous. It is suggested that Tom and Becky's relationship grows until marriage, therefore solidifying the fact that Amy loses the run for Tom.
