Here is the main roster of a 2D fighting-game I came up with called Darkside, a sort of spiritual-successor to monster-based fighting-games like Darkstalkers and The Black-Heart.

Darkside ダークサイド:
In the Dark-Universe, an alternative version of Earth where humans are all extinct and the world is now ruled by many different races of monsters, a battle-tournament is held in which representatives from the many monster races compete to claim the title of the Dark-Universe Champion.

Taiji Shiroku is the hybrid son of a nekomata-mother and a vampire-father, born between two worlds he is thought of as an oddity for monsters, however he has the powers of both of his parents and wants to show the Dark-Universe what a hybrid like him is capable of, so he enters the tournament armed with his father's sword, the Onimasha into battle.

Shika-Twelve is a living-doll, created by a mad-scientist with both dead human and vampire body-parts and brought to life, she is cheerful and child-like as she wants to see the new world she is living in, after hearing of the Dark-Universe fighting tournament, she thought that it might be fun so she joins in to "play" with a large-knife and a swarm of bats she can control due to her vampire parts.

GarouTurbo is the remains of a long-dead werewolf that was encased in a robotic-shell with both and up-right and motorcycle-mode, was entered into the tournament, to test out it's effectiveness as a weapon in combat, with high-speed, retractable claws and an advanced AI system, it could be the future of bio-mechanical weaponry.

Raikai Tamiko is a young, humanoid kraken and Taiji's friendly rival that has entered the tournament to face strong opponents and to battle his old friend on the world stage. He has a crab-like exoskeleton and powerful tentacles that he can use in battle, he can also use venomous claws.

Kopatra is an ancient mummy who was a princess, bond in her bandages long ago to preserve her vast knowledge of her people's magic, she wants to resort her great empire to it's former glory as she can use her magic to summon the gods of her people to aid her in battle, summon hoards of scarab-beetles and use her long bandage-strips as whips.

T-01 was once a human who became the host to a bizarre zombie virus, mutating him into an insectoid-like monster based on the bacteriophage. It has no mind of it's own, it fights out of pure instinct using raw power, it's venomous claws and can summon zombies to attack it's opponents, it fights only to spread the virus and make more of it's own kind.

Totem is a giant golem made of stone and metal created by a genius scientist to battle his enemies in the name of his maker. Eventhough his maker is long dead, Totem continues to fight in the hope to see his master again, however he also seeks to find and battle strong opponents, not knowing that the spirit of his maker is guiding him on for an unknown purpose.

Jack the Reaper is a mysterious wraith who is the soul of a long-dead serial-killer, now roaming the Dark-Universe to reap the souls of the living with his sickle blade. He has heard of a gathering of souls in the Dark-Universe tournament, so he appears to battle and claim the souls that he desires.

Raven is a member of a tribe of Mothmen who can use his slicing talons and his wings to create powerful wind storms in battle. A prideful warrior eager to prove himself in battle, he enters the contest to prove that he is the greatest Mothman warrior.

Neko is the ghost of a young kitten who died when the human-race perished, she is now a spectre who can take control of the bodies of others, and using her claws and teeth to bite and scratch her foes, since she was loved by a little girl, not knowing what happened, she enters the tournament in hopes her finding her loving owner.

Baal is a powerful homunculus created for battle by a dark wizard long-ago, but gaining a will of his own and the power of shape-shifting in which he uses to create weapons such as swords and cannons to fight his foes, he's entered the tournament simply for the thrill of the hunt and to sate his thirst for battle.

Gumotaro is a solder-drone from a hive of Tsuchigumo spiders, it has entered the tournament to hunt for prey to bring back to it's hive and to it's queen to feast. It has venomous claws and fangs, can spray webs and can fire plasma-beams from the wings on it's back.

Hitomi Tsunakai is the gentle offspring of a centaur mother and a hellhound father, she is a childhood friend of Taiji Shiroku, who she has a massive crush on and has entered the tournament to propose to him to marry her. She is fast, strong and uses fire-based powers that she got from her father, but also fights with a katana given to her by her mother called the Hanagumishi.

Kurousagi is the descendent of the Black Rabbit of Death, who brings death with a single touch, but he has trained himself to only use it when he wants to so that he can fight. After seeing old tokusatsu shows, he took up the form of a dark henshin-hero and fights for his own brand of justice, he has joined the tournament to test his skills against his opponents to prove to himself that he is ready to be the hero he wants to be.
