A little window into the reality that is the world our friends are living in. In panel 2, you can see their body language, particularly Jeremy. Chucky and Kevin have obvious 'oh shit' faces, but Jeremy is leaning slightly forward, like he's waiting to see what the wagon driver is going to do. Chucky and his friends may be young teens, but they aren't a trio you'd really want to mess with. The driver knows this, he just wants to make his 30 tsugas and be left alone.
XD fuck thats.. so kevin. and hes rather eager to protect his friends with that little sword of his.. god forbid the HELL somebody would bring down on themselves between Jeremy and Kevin if anybody messed with this group XD

it would be funny if the drawing he made was just in the same style as the comic, and they remarked "oh! it's so realistic!" even though to us it's a cartoon style

When you drive a wagon and willing to pick up fursons for an "honest" fare, you tend to know when to keep your mouth shut and look the other way. While I'm sure the driver doesn't want any trouble and just wants to earn his fare, I believe that deep inside the father knows that boys will be boys and it's best to let mother nature run its cycle.

...mmmmmayyybe they have skinny-dipped together à la tom sawyer (maybe not?), but now the curiosity after seeing gwendolyn in the nude must be above any scale X-D

Chucky needs to stand up for himself. If he says he doesn't want them to see it then he should put his foot down and say they can't see it. Plus, that narc kid is going to peek around one way or the other. Kids like him almost seem to get off on getting people in trouble.

This isn't this drivers first rodeo to paraphrase so he's probably seen a LOT of things that it's better if you DON'T mention after you've accepted the money. That said I'm glad nothing came of this even though it's nice to know the guys could take care of themselves if they had to. And ya SHOW US CHUCKY!! NOW!! :D
Also well done on the entire page. You're story telling is just getting better and better and that's half the fun of this comic! :D

The drive probably has seen plenty. Also, Silverbrook is a small town. The driver likely recognizes all three of them as kids he's seen around town from time to time.

It's the fact they live in a Middle Ages era, where out on the road like this you're on your own. Any fight you pick, justified or not, ends when it finishes rather than getting stopped by an authority figure. Chucky, being skunk is a deterrent on his own. Kevin has a sword, and being a small bunny was probably taught to use it to keep himself safe. And Jeremy, being a young badger makes him large and strong already. And there's three of them. I hope that makes sense.

All that aside, the driver doesn't want to alienate potential repeat customers.
And the kid...well, he was reacting to what he probably was taught as right and wrong. Can't fault him for that. He will understand once he reaches puberty.
:-D
Certainly makes sense for that era. All that aside, the driver doesn't want to alienate potential r
