Panel 67: Springlade Light Infantry are attacking the demon. They are in skirmish order and cubs are paired up into firing teams. Their green uniforms are topped with black shakos rimmed in white braid. They are blasting the large brute with several pacigun shots, overwhelming it.
Caption: She was lucky, because there was a detachment of cub guards in the town. They set out quickly to save her and her other creche-mates.

Panel 68: A fluffy white and brown cat medtech returning Leika’s soul, her eyes opening. A Springlade trooper giving her a thumbs up. Leika is bathed in a cool blue light as her soul is returned.
Caption: They managed to free her soul from the demon. The doctors said she would be fine.

Panel 69: Leika with a yellow blanket over her shoulders being hugged by the dark brown furred shiba inu caretaker synth who has been damaged but is still functional. Leika is shivering as if suffering from hypothermia.
Caption: As long as you can get your soul back from a demon in under six hours, there’d be little permanent damage.

Panel 70: Close up of Leika’s eyes, superimposed with an image of when her soul was in the demon. Leika has a silent expression of anguish on her face.
Caption: But sometimes, you still end up with a few scars.

Panel 71: The family hugging Leika, she is burying her face in Zyn’s lap as they continue on down the elevator. Zyn is rubbing Leika’s back with concern on their face. Thindel is calling behind her to an open door to the dark hallway and safety of the shelter. Val is standing behind covering her mouth and crying as she tries to understand what is happening to Leika.
Caption: When Mommy saw those demons, some scar in her soul opened up. She was never quite the same after that day.
Zyn: Leika! What’s wrong? We’re safe! We’re safe…
