Trap The German Tank Engine does push-pull passenger trains since he first did it back in Germany. His technique is very different from the Great Western Railway version of the push-pull auto trains; when backwards he pulls his coaches but when going forwards he actually pushes his own coaches with the cab control coach in front. To provide safe operations, a third driver is in the cab of the cab control coach and they communicate via radios to do what they want to do. For Trap, this is a common practice in the German Federal Railways since the late 1950s to late 1960s
Dicy The Mean Diesel Locomotive, is shocked with Trap’s arrangement of his passenger train runs as she thinks Trap is bound to have an accident. Trap responds that he is allowed to do so as he is designed for that purpose; Dicy isn’t convinced as she thinks Trap’s way is even more dangerous than the Great Western Railway’s practice with an auto coach.
