I have to be truthful. I'm not a fan of MAD Magazine. And I havent read any comic issues of them except some MAD comic sketches in my old Swedish comics called Elvis the Tortoise or Turtle (not Elvis Presley) created by Tony Cronstam and his ex wife Maria Cronstam until the comics got cancelled due to their divorce since 2014.
When I looked at some stuff from MAD Magazine, I was luke warmed or meh. some of them were okay, meh, good, funny or bad or lame Depends what. So I come off as casual reader/audience when it comes to MAD. But I gotta confess that Spy vs Spy is actually funny and the biggest highlight of MAD Magazine. Heck I even grew to like Spy vs Spy comic sketches and someday. I'd like to buy the Spy vs Spy Omnibus book.
I was surprised to learn that my parents and some of my co workers at the cafe at the retirement home know about those spies and I was surprised that those comic sketches are alot older than me.
In Swedish translation of MAD Magazine I learned the spies were called X and Y. I had quite hard time to pick which one is Y and which one is X. According to WIkia The White Spy is X and Black Spy is Y. I wasnt so sure. But I said White Spy and Black Spy just to make it easier to call them.
It was pretty hard to draw those spies without my computer to use references since I was at work. But when I came home, it went kinda well.
