The blue hedgehog knelt in front of the wheelchair and gently placed a pair of still hot, still sticky and wet eggs on Jerald's thighs. The plaid covering useless legs was instantly soaked, but the white hedgehog didn't even feel it.
The empty and intense gaze of the indigo eyes stopped on the hedgehog frozen in front of him.
Sonic stared back, both desperate and hopeful. He fidgeted nervously in his spot, flicked his scratched ears, and was about to turn around to look somewhere... somewhere to the place where the strange, not-at-all hedgehog was resting (and hiding). Who had already lost his first clutch a couple months ago.
The white hedgehog still remembered the loud and desperate howl that had reached him through the barrier of the manor's many walls.
"Jerald, please. I'm begging you," Blue muttered again, hastily, when he heard footsteps outside.
Jerald didn't move for a few more moments. But before Sonic could lose the last bits of hope, jump up and try to run away with his children, lowered his gaze to the knees, closed his eyes and moved his hand weakly.
The cloth rustled briefly, carefully covering the other's underdeveloped offspring.

And the other 3 are the answer what happened later. So yes, the kids are okay, just now being raised by different parents in a different universe (the alt version of Glass Triad's ending, called "Cobweb").
