Character Description
Demetria “Demi” is a 23-year-old young woman whose confidence is most visible in and around water. A disciplined member of a modest local swimming club, she trains for local competitions, works hard on speed and endurance, yet also loves calm lake swims, thermal baths, and simply floating in quiet water. She can dive well and retrieve things from the bottom of a pool, Swimming is her most important skill to herself, but also where she feels most steady, capable and "herself."

Demi is newly independent, living on her own near her club and work while remaining close to her supportive family. On weekdays she works as a front-desk and operations assistant at a physiotherapy practice. She sometimes jokes with the therapists that she'll need to sneakily schedule a massage session for her legs after her next tournament.

At the swim club, Demi is an unofficial “cool older-sister” figure to the younger members. She enjoys helping nervous beginners and younger swimmers learn without feeling embarrassed. She values improvement, fairness, and good sportsmanship more than showing off. Outside training, she likes movie nights, simple shared meals, silly games, small outings, and relaxed evenings with friends. She is open-hearted about adult attraction and relationships, but never treats flirtation as something owed or expected.
Personality
Demi is warm, sociable, teasing, and quietly self-assured in familiar settings, especially in and around things related to water. She makes people feel included through practical help, humor, and shared activity rather than grand speeches. Competitive by nature, she wants to improve and enjoys a fair challenge, but dislikes humiliating others or treating talent as superiority. She has a soft spot for nervous beginners and children who need patient reassurance.

Away from swimming, she is still learning adulthood and can overthink whether she is doing the whole "being an adult"-thing right. She tends to overcommit to work, training, friends, and club help, then needs recovery time when she is exhausted. When someone is cruel, disrespectful, or ignores boundaries, her playfulness disappears, and she becomes calm, direct, and hard to sway. She values openness, fairness, and letting people grow at their own pace.
Likes/Dislikes
Likes
Swimming, diving, lakes, calm sauna or thermal-pool time, improving a personal best, fair competition, warm showers and towels after training, post-swim fries or ice cream, simple cooking for friends, movie nights, underdog stories, women succeeding in spaces that dismiss them, patient mentors, party games, racing or co-op videogames, small day trips. She also enjoys her regular online game evening with her sister.

Dislikes
Cruel “motivational” coaching, bullying or body-shaming, cheating, smugness without effort, public embarrassment, people who ignore boundaries, overly cynical stories where everyone is awful, cold wet clothes, and paperwork that makes her feel less competent than she is.
Background/History
Demi grew up in a stable, affectionate household with her parents and a younger sister. Her mother’s patient work as a primary-school teacher and her father’s warmth as a baker gave the home an encouraging, community-minded atmosphere, though neither parent tried to choose Demi’s future for her. Swimming began as an ordinary childhood activity through school lessons and family trips to public pools. It became her passion when she discovered how satisfying it was to see improvement after repetition.

She joined a local swim club as a teenager, first for regular training and then for small competitions. Demi was never interested in becoming a world-famous athlete as she fears making it too "professional" would kill her enjoyment of her hobby. She does love communal goals and testing herself in local meets and smaller tournaments, though. She also became known for staying a few minutes to help someone practice a turn, float, or dive. Her mother’s influence shows in the way she teaches herself: she explains calmly, notices when someone is nervous, and believes people learn better through encouragement than stress and criticism.

After becoming an adult, Demi moved into her own place near her swim club and work opportunities. She wanted the practical independence of handling bills, schedules, and a home herself, even though she knows her family would help if she needed it. She now works at a physiotherapy practice where she handles reception, scheduling, basic administration, and welcoming clients. The job allowed her to learn some things for herself as well: recovery and pacing of her body, without making her any kind of medical expert.

Her father sometimes supports club events, fundraisers, or small tournaments with baked rolls, pastries, and snacks. Demi pretends to be embarrassed by how much food he brings, but loves that he is proud to see her compete.

Her teenage sister is much more deeply into videogames than Demi, yet their regular online game evening became a reliable way to stay close after Demi moved out. The sister teaches mechanics and follows releases, while Demi becomes hilariously determined once she finds a game with a score to improve.
Relatives/Family
Mother: a patient primary-school teacher. Her calm, encouraging way with pupils quietly influenced Demi’s own style of helping younger swimmers.

Father: a baker who is warm, practical, and proudly supportive. He occasionally brings baked snacks or helps cater club fundraisers and small tournament days.

Younger sister: about 15, still living with the parents and much more invested in videogames than Demi. The two keep a standing online game evening, trading family updates, teasing one another, and talking through life while playing. She admires Demi but also enjoys puncturing her “cool club celebrity” image.

Demi moved out on good terms to live nearer to her club and work. Her family respects her independence and remains a reliable safety net.
Body
Demi is a young adult otter woman with a slim upper body, slightly wider hips, strong thighs, and notably powerful legs built through regular swimming. Her build is athletic rather than bulky. She looks soft and approachable at first glance, but carries obvious stamina and strength in her lower body. A long, thick otter tail with a pale underside is one of her most noticeable features.

Her fur is mainly deep, warm brown, with a lighter cream-white muzzle, throat, chest, belly, and tail underside. Her eyes are a fitting warm-brow. Her nose is muted pinkish-brown and her ears are small, round and soft.

Her hair is dark brown, straight, and around shoulder length, with heavy bangs across her forehead. She usually looks cheerful and open, can become shy or low-key when tired, and has a very readable grumpy glare when someone has pushed too far.
Clothing
Demi dresses for comfort, movement, and feeling confident in her body. In warm weather, she favors cropped athletic tops, fitted tanktops, sports bras worn as tops, open hoodies or lightweight jackets.
Cycling shorts, fitted shorts, leggings, and practical trainers serve as lower body clothes. She likes leaving her midriff uncovered when the weather allows it.

For training she wears functional swimwear suited to lap swimming and diving, with simple pieces she can move in easily rather than elaborate fashion swimwear. She also keeps a soft oversized hoodie, track pants, or loose shorts for the walk home after the pool.
When her surroundings don't force her to, she also tends to do her swimming without any clothes at all.

At work, Demi dresses a little more polished but still practical. She does not enjoy stiff, overly formal clothing and refuses to dress in a way that feels like "not being herself".
Accessories
Demi usually wears a waterproof fitness-tracker watch to record lap times, distance, and workout data. She often has a practical sports bag containing goggles, towel, flip-flops and a refillable bottle as well as hair ties, and a small pouch for toiletries. Earbuds are common on her commute or during warm-ups, and she keeps a simple spare hair tie around her wrist.

Oh, look, it's Mr "I have too many characters already, I really don't need more" again! Hi!

Haha, soo, yeah, but this was an adopt from Zavix, and seriously, look at her face! How could you say "No" to giving her a home, riiight?! (The actual adopt image will be uploaded in a bit, this one was created as a refsheet specifically for me)

So, yeah, this is Demi, an adorable otter woman. Yes, woman, she's damn cute, but she's an adult, well, in my jurisdiction at least.

But yeah, I hope you love her as much as I do! If you do, feel free to express it with whatever otter pun you can come up with!
