Byrd has a traumatic past, rarely speaks, and lives in a post-apocalyptic world, fighting with a huge sword. Often covered in blood and mud, he fights when he needs to, and won't provoke others. Sometimes, he prays in abandoned chapels for peace in the world and calmness in his mind.
