Having never held his breath for more than 30 seconds, Treecko sought help from his friend Froakie in learning how to hold it longer. So, at least once every couple days, the two would head to a nearby pool where Treecko would practice under Froakie's guidance, gradually learning new techniques and strengthening his lungs. A few months in, Treecko can now easily handle 3 minutes without air, and even push himself to just under 5! Here, he's been under for about 4 and a half minutes, and while his lungs are burning, he still stays sitting on the bottom as Froakie gives him a reassuring thumbs up and a smile between their own puffed cheeks. Maybe someday, Froakie will be struggling himself when Treecko finally surfaces!
S: It's a nice day to be at the pool, and it's also a perfect day for training...a treecko wanted to get better at holding his breath underwater and beat out his best friend in a contest since he always loses, so today he's gonna get trained by another friend of his, a froakie who's currently waiting by the pool until treecko shows up
L: Eventually, the treecko does arrive, carrying a pair of blue goggles with him. "Sorry I'm late! I'm ready for my practice!"
S: "Ah no worries! Glad you made it! Haven't seen you in a while either, hope your doing well!"
L: "I'm doing good!" Treecko sits on the edge of the pool. "I've been keeping up my practice, but it's not the same without you there."
S: froakie sits on the edge of the pool next to treecko "Well that's good, let's see if we can break your record today... we haven't managed to do that in quite some time, today feels like a good day for that and I know you can do this!"
L: "I've got a good feeling too... Really hope I'll be able to beat my record this time! I've been getting close on my own, you're probably gonna make the difference."
S: froakie puts a reassuring hand on treecko "You've got this bud, and I'll help you stay nice and calm so you won't panic, cause I know that sometimes happens to you..."
L: "Yeah, in my personal practice I have a hard time really pushing myself, so your help with staying calm is always really nice."
S: froakie smiles at that "Aww well, glad I'm able to help you with that... I know it can be hard sometimes to really push yourself, heck I may be a water type but even I have to still hold my breath, and I'm sort of used to pushing myself already"
L: "You're lucky you at least have a pretty big advantage with breath holding. But one of these days, I'm gonna beat you at it, I know I will!"
S: "Hehe, alright then...Mr Confident, maybe you will someday I don't know, I have faith in you tho" froakie smiles warmly at treecko "Anyway, shall we get ready? We have this whole pool to ourselfs"
L: "Yeah, let's get started with this... Love when it's just us here!" Treecko puts on his goggles and starts taking deep breaths.
S: froakie gets in the pool slowly and also takes some deep breathes "I love your goggles, I've always have, they always make you look good when you wear them...I'm thankful I can see fine underwater without them, but I should really get a pair myself cause I wanna look good too!"
L: "Glad you like them! I bet whatever pair you pick out is gonna look good too!"
S: "Awww well thanks treecko that means a lot to me" froakie blushes a tad before resuming his deep breathes
L: Eventually, Treecko gasps one more time and holds his breath before diving, swimming toward the bottom of the pool.
S: froakie gasps one last time and holds it before diving underwater with the treecko, swimming down to the bottom of the pool with them
L: Treecko smiles at Froakie, then he sits down on the bottom and closes his eyes, trying to relax as much as possible.
S: froakie smiles back and sits down next to treecko, closing his own eyes to relax along side treecko
L: As time goes on, Treecko does start getting a little nervous... But, opening his eyes to look at Froakie reminds him he's not alone, and he calms down again.
S: froakie opens his eyes as well to look at treecko, noticing they are a bit nervous, he scoots closer to him and smiles reassuringly
L: Treecko gives Froakie a hug as they get close, glad to have his friend here to reassure him.
S: froakie blushes from the hug, and happily hugs treecko back, letting out some small bubbles through his nostrils
L: Treecko would let out bubbles as well, but he's focusing on lasting as long as possible, so he keeps his air in. Still, a couple tiny bubbles get out anyway.
S: froakie pinches his nose shut, instructing treecko to do the same so no air can escape

L: With a nod, Treecko holds his nose like Froakie is with theirs, still hugging Froakie with his free arm.
S: froakie gives a thumbs up with his free arm, then continues to give treecko a hug, or it's more like a side hug
L: Treecko closes his eyes again, staying calm even as he starts to blush just a little.
S: froakie smiles and closes his own eyes too to relax, he doesn't have a blush at all, signaling he's definitely a better breath holder the treecko
L: Some more time passes, Treecko's blush slowly expanding over time. With Froakie with him, he's able to stay relaxed despite his need to breathe.
S: froakie opens his eyes to look at how treecko is doing and smiles happily at his progress, he checks his stopwatch to see it's been 9 minutes already, he only now has a very slight blush from his need to breathe
L: Treecko's face is fully red now, and little grunts are starting to be audible from him as his chest heaves.
S: hearing his grunts, froakie rubs treecko's chest in an attempt to comfort him as their chest started to heave a bit, he blows out some bubbles in hopes the treecko will do the same to help his acheing lungs
L: Remembering what Froakie's taught him, Treecko blows out a few bubbles from his mouth, easing his strain just a little bit.
S: froakie nods his head approvingly, continuing to rub treecko's chest to help calm him down further, his own blush getting a bit more onto his face as a total of 14 minutes has passed by
L: Treecko smiles a little and continues pushing himself, his strain becoming more clear over time... Eventually he can't relax any more, his face starting to turn blue, but he still stays on the bottom, giving Froakie a strained and somewhat nervous look.
S: fully committing to help treecko, froakie gives treecko a full on hug to help him, ignoring his own need to breathe and his own needs to seal away his air...the minutes tick by as there's a total of 17 minutes now
L: Just a couple minutes from his record now, Treecko whines as he briefly looks up at the surface, before covering his mouth and tightly shutting his eyes in his struggles.
S: "You goblt this!" froakie said, trying everything he can to help treecko, he pinches treecko's nose shut for him, grunting a tad himself as his own need for air grows, his face almost entirely red
L: Now that he has an extra hand free, Treecko moves that to his mouth as well, starting to shiver a little from strain while his face begins turning purple. Even now though, he's determined to keep going.
S: froakie takes a look at his stopwatch, it's been a little over 22 minutes now, he smiles at it...but decides to not tell treecko yet, continuing to hug him as his grunts become a little more audible
L: Bubbles start leaking away from Treecko as he seems to be nearing his limit... Suddenly, there's a few bursts of bubbles from him and he begins frantically swimming for the surface, whimpering the whole time.
S: "Treecblko!!" froakie's eyes widen at how far treecko is actually pushing himself, knowing he's at his true limit froakie follows treecko, assisting him in getting to the surface safely
L: Thankfully, Treecko surfaces in time, repeatedly gasping and coughing as he quickly grabs the pool's edge.
S: froakie surfaces too and gasps for air too, stopping the stopwatch as well before holding the pool's edge too "Wow... just wow, you did AMAZING!!!! I'm at a loss for words..."
L: Between his gasps as his face slowly goes back to its normal colors, Treecko says "H-how long... W-was I under...?"
S: "Uhhh... we were under for 22 minutes!!"
L: "W- R-really!? I-I beat my record!" Treecko's tails wag as he pulls himself back onto the edge of the pool, raising his goggles as he keeps resting.
S: "You sure did! I'm so proud of you! See? I knew you could do it!" froakie hugs treecko tight
L: Treecko happily hugs Froakie back. "I think I'm finally gonna be able to win a breath holding contest with my best friend now!"
L: With a nod, Treecko holds his nose like Froakie is with theirs, still hugging Froakie with his fr
S: "Oh? Really? Who's this best friend of yours? I bet they are good, heh..."
L: "They're the one that got me into swimming in the first place, before that I was always too scared to try. But, now that I like it, I swim with them a lot, and we explore underwater together!"
S: "Oh how fun! Sounds like you two are pretty close then huh? Hehe" suddenly another voice appears ??? - "Well well well, look who we have here!" a snivy pops in, this was treecko's best friend
L: "Oh hey, we were just talking about you!" Treecko hops up and gives Snivy a hug. "Can't believe you just happened to come by!"
S: the snivy happily hugs treecko back Snivy - "So, I heard you've been training with froakie again, that true?"
Froakie - "Ah yes! You won't believe how much he improved today!"
L: "Yeah, I beat my record by almost 4 minutes! I'm FINALLY ready to win a breath holding contest against you!"
S: the snivy laughs Snivy - "Oh really? Ha! Well we've had like a bunch of breath holding contests and you lost every single one, but if your saying you've improved then..." the snivy pulls out his swim goggles which are purple in color "How about we have a contest right now? Hehe"
Froakie - "Oh boy!"
L: "Let's do this! It's gonna be different this time, I know it!" Treecko gets his own goggles back over his eyes.
S: Snivy - "Bring it! Your gonna lose! Cause I've too been practicing, so prepare yourself! Hahaha!" the snivy puts his goggles on and lowers them over his eyes too, smirking playfully a bot at treecko
Froakie - "This should be fun to watch! I've never witnessed a breath holding contest in person before!"
L: Treecko gives Snivy a determined smile, before getting into the water and starting to get ready with some deep breathing.
S: Snivy gives a determined look before hopping into the water himself, taking some deep breathes as well...Froakie watches the two prepare, also taking some breathes so he can make sure he watches the whole show
L: "Froakie, give us a countdown so we both go under at the same time. I want to have as equal of a start as possible." He keeps breathing deeply, waiting.
S: Snivy - "Yeah me too"
Froakie - "Sounds good guys, I'm rooting for you treecko!" after a bit as the trio prepares eventually froakie starts a countdown "On 3... 1....2....3!" and at the same time both snivy and froakie take a deep breath and dive underwater, snivy just let his body sink towards the bottom instead of swimming down
L: At the same time as he others, Treecko gasps and holds his breath before letting himself sink like Snivy is, saving his energy.
S: froakie also let's his body sink down too, and eventually the trio touches the bottom of the pool, Snivy smiles at treecko before sitting down and crossing his legs to get comfortable, closing his eyes as his cheeks are lightly puffed with air... froakie also sits down as well, watching the show unfold
L: Treecko sits down as well, looking at Snivy before closing his eyes, trying to relax as much as possible.
S: snivy is already relaxed down here, in fact he seems more relaxed then Treecko, not a single bubble escaping him, if someone else saw him like this you couldn't even tell that he was holding his breath unless you looked closer and see his little puffy cheeks
Froakie watches the two of them, noticing how relaxed snivy is which does worry him about treecko losing
L: Snivy certainly does have more experience than Treecko, but he's not planning on giving up, continuing to stay still and calmly hold his breath.
S: Snivy moves his hand up to gently pinch his nose shut, which in term makes him even calmer, a peaceful smile on his face as he's not at all worried about losing this
L: A few seconds later, Treecko remembers to do the same, holding his own nose. Though he'd hardly been letting out bubbles anyway, this helps him keep them in even more.
S: "Oh? Really? Who's this best friend of yours? I bet they are good, heh..." L: "They're the one t
S: Froakie continues to watch the two of the calmly hold their breath, casually letting bubbles loose from his mouth
Snivy scoots a tad bit closer to treecko, still remaining perfectly calm
L: Peeking a little, Treecko notices Snivy get closer to him. He smiles at them, but doesn't move, intent on saving as much oxygen as he possibly can.
S: Snivy peeks a bit too, smiling back before closing his eyes, he slowly slips into a meditative state because of how relaxed he is
Froakie looks at the time on his stopwatch, it's already been 7 minutes and Snivy isn't blushing at all, a tiny bubble sometimes escapes his mouth every now and again
L: Treecko is blushing a tiny bit, but with his eyes closed again, he doesn't know he's not doing as good as Snivy. Even if he did, he certainly wouldn't give up.
S: Snivy opens his eyes a tad and notices Treecko's tiny blush, he giggles a tad as he's already doing better, then goes back to relaxing
L: While he's not sure what's funny, Treecko smiles a little at hearing Snivy's bubbly laugh.
S: froakie shakes his head as he continues to watch, now a total of 14 minutes has passed by, the snivy just now having the tiniest blush on his cheeks
L: Treecko's getting a blue blush at this point, and his chest has started to heave again as he lets out an occasional little muffled whine.
S: Froakie - "Uh oh..." froakie said in his head, quietly he swims over to treecko, and tries to help calm him down
Snivy giggles again as he hears treecko's whines, knowing it won't be long until treecko surfaces
L: Now being sure of what Snivy is finding funny, he glares at them for a moment before hugging Froakie, still holding his nose with one hand.
S: froakie hugs him back, rubbing treecko's chest again to keep helping him stay calm
Snivy smirks playfully as he continues staying calm, his red blush on his cheeks slowly getting bigger as we approach 18 minutes
L: With his face back to being fully blue, Treecko is struggling again, but he still stays in place and pushes himself.
S: snivy opens his eyes and sees treecko struggling a lot, he shakes his head Snivy - "Givble up alblready! Hahbla!" even tho talking wasted his own air snivy wasn't concerned, even as his cheeks are fully red and slowly his face turning red too
Froakie - "Hang in thblere..." froakie continues to hug treecko and rub his chest
L: Treecko shakes his head in response to Snivy. "Hmrgh... G-glmm..." He can't stay relaxed any more, and yet he continues to stay and hold his breath, little bubbles now sometimes leaving his mouth.
S: froakie covers treecko's mouth to help, snivy rolling his eyes knowing it's two against 1, but he still doesn't care knowing it won't do much anyways as his whole face is deeply red and a little grunt escapes him, the timer now at 23 minutes, this is already pasted treecko's record
L: With his face purple again, Treecko is shivering as bubbles leak away despite his mouth being covered. He'd normally be going up by now, but he's staring at Snivy, hoping they might somehow be faking how well they're doing.
S: as snivy's face is slowly turning blue himself, he's starting to get a tad worried, but seeing treecko's face purple he tries to hang on for a while longer
froakie keeps trying to help treecko win this, covering his nose for him as well tightly and pressing his hand on treecko's mouth a bit more to seal away any remaining air, the timer now at 26 minutes
L: Squirming in place, Treecko presses both hands to his mouth as bubbles start spurting out, the Pokemon approaching his limit. His body is beginning to go numb as he pushes himself farther than he should...
S: as snivy's face is fully blue, he covers his mouth as well as bubbles keep escaping him, grunting more
S: Froakie continues to watch the two of the calmly hold their breath, casually letting bubbles loos
S: Froakie - "Treeblcko!" froakie's own face is fully red as he looks over at snivy and noticing them struggling a bit too, but it seems like snivy isn't quite used to pushing himself this far because he always wins the contests before his own face is blue, so without thinking he bolts up to the surface!
L: So absorbed in his struggles, Treecko doesn't seem to notice, his bubbles beginning to trail off while his struggles slow, starting to look a little sleepy from his extreme lack of oxygen.
S: "Treecblko!!!!" now concerned for his safety and noticing snivy at the surface, which he's gasping heavily for air, froakie then picks up treecko and carries him to the surface, continuing to keep everything sealed shut for him as he goes up relatively fast
meanwhile Snivy - "Hah...hah... what?! Treecko is still underwater!? There's no way!!"
L: Treecko is soon pulled above the water, where he weakly gasps a few times as he comes back to awareness. Then, he's gasping and panting just as hard as when he'd surfaced earlier, the purple on his face fading back to blue and working its way toward its normal green.
S: "Omg..."
Snivy and Froakie - "Treecko! Are you ok?!"

L: For a little while, he's breathing too heavily to talk, but eventually manages to do so. "I-I'm fine... Sh-shouldn't have done that..."
S: Snivy - "I-I'm at a complete lost for words, you actually beat me!! What a warrior you are treecko, your even more cooler now!"
Froakie - "Not only that, but..." froakie shows the stopwatch to both of them of a 31 minute breath hold underwater "Treecko improved his time AGAIN! Even tho he shouldn't have pushed himself like that, it was still very impressive!"
L: Treecko starts wagging his tails even more than earlier. "H-holy crap, I never thought I'd EVER get that good! A-and I finally beat Snivy, too!"
S: Snivy - "GG treecko, I'm very impressed... you finally managed to beat me, now we may actually be able to go dive down even deeper the next time we go to the ocean! I'm definitely gonna practice more myself but, amazing job buddy I'm very proud of you!" snivy's own tail wags happily as he hugs treecko tight, froakie even joins in on the hug too
L: "Thanks guys! I can't wait to beat my depth record with you too, Snivy!" He happily hugs both of them.
S: "Were in this together buddy! No matter what!"
Froakie - "Yeah! And I'll keep practicing with you whenever I can! We can even work on your depth record next too if you wanted!"
L: "Yeah, having you with us on a dive would be great! Well, to me at least. Snivy, what do you think?"
S: Snivy - "Heh, if you protect my best friend like that, then I would be more then happy to let froakie join too! Might be nice to have a 3rd person here on our dives"
Froakie - "Oh awesome! Thank you!"
L: "Sweet! Yeah, I bet it's gonna be a lot more fun to actually have a water type with us on a dive!"
S: froakie blushes at what treecko just said, smiling even more
Snivy - "Totally! I'll be epic! And I bet he'll be able to help us reach the darkest depths! I've always wanted to explore them!"
Froakie - "Yeah for sure! But we should probably do that another time, I'm sure both of you are exhausted from your breath holding contest/practice"
L: "Definitely need some time to rest, yeah. Pushing myself like both those times really took a lot out of me..."
S: Snivy - "Yeah, I'm pretty tired too" snivy puts his goggles on his forehead "But we all should totally go out on a deep dive together sometime!"
Froakie - "For sure! Hehe!"
L: "Well, see you guys then, I really need a nap right now..." Treecko takes off his goggles, just holding them.
S: snivy takes off his goggles too and puts them away
Snivy - "Honestly me too... a nap in the sun sounds great right now"
Froakie - "Heh, well...bye guys then!" froakie hops away, smiling at the two one last time before he goes
S: Froakie - "Treeblcko!" froakie's own face is fully red as he looks over at snivy and noticing the

S: it's another beautiful day, another perfect day for training, and that was exactly what a certain treecko was doing, except this time, he's bringing along me for the ride in the training as well, although I was rather nervous for my first ever underwater training session and I didn't know what to expect, but the same froakie from before was already there and waiting by the pool, waving us over as we approach them
L: Treecko: "Hi, Froakie! Figured I'd bring along a friend of mine this time, hope that's alright. His name's Emilio."
S: Froakie - "Oh? An extra student in my training school huh? Hehe, well it's nice to meet you Emilio!" froakie gives a warm smile at us
Me - "U-uhhh, nice to meet you too froakie...heh" I was clearly nervous for all this
L: "He, um... Doesn't do well with water. I'm good at keeping him calm underwater, but I was hoping we might be able to work on that with this so he doesn't need my help as much any more."
S: Froakie - "Mmm I see, well don't worry Emilio, I'm an expert at this kind of stuff, considering I'm a water type, I'm sure I'll be able to help out your fears"
Me - "I-i certinaly hope so, this is my first time doing an underwater training session, and that's why I'm so nervous about doing it with an actual instructor, heh"
L: "Trust me, Froakie's a good teacher. A while back, he managed to give me the training I needed to win a breath holding contest against a rival of mine!"
S: "Whoa whoa, you have a rival?! No way!"
Froakie - "Mmhm, he does... it's a Snivy, he's been beating Treecko at breath holding contests for a long time, but...when we last trained not only did treecko improve his time but he actually beat the snivy for the first time!"
L: "He was actually more impressed than mad, too, and we're going to go on a deep dive out in the ocean together at some point! I've been practicing a fair bit since then to really get ready, heh."
S: Me - "Oh really? Well that's interesting..."
Froakie - "Anyways, how about we get started with you guys training today hmm? I've got a good feeling about this!"
L: "Same here, I think this is gonna go pretty well!" Treecko gets his goggles on and gets into the water.
S: Me - "I certinaly hope so..." I put on my goggles as well and get in the water, the froakie does as well
Froakie - "Now I have to warn you, my training sessions can get a little...intense...but for your first round I won't try to push it that much"
L: "Yeah, let's not have this be one of the ones where one of us ends up going purple. We should definitely just take it a bit easy for now."
S: Me - "Purple?! Oh I definitely don't want that!"
Froakie - "No worries I won't make you do that, anyways you both get yourselfs ready and we'll dive under"
L: "Hopefully we'll have a good time with this!" Treecko starts taking deep breaths to prepare for the dive.
S: I do as well, but froakie doesn't as he won't need to
L: Knowing that Froakie will still easily outlast him regardless, Treecko doesn't think much of them not preparing. Eventually, he takes one last gasp before diving down.
S: froakie takes a single gasp and dives down as well, however like always I was nervous on my first dive and I didn't go down
L: Even though Treecko had been expecting this on some level, he's still disappointed it happened once again. He gestures for Froakie to go back up, and surfaces. "Yeah, kind of figured... Maybe I shouldn't have mentioned that "turning purple" thing..."
S: froakie returns to the surface as well
Froakie - "Sorry Emilio, I probably shouldn't have said that the sessions get intense, didn't mean to scare you"
Me - "Y-y-yeah that really scared me! Because the last time I went underwater, I almost drowned...twice!"
L: "We won't be going that far with this, don't worry. You're going to be completely safe with both of us here!"

S: Froakie - "Exactly! You'll be just fine! And what do you mean you almost drowned two times? What happened?"
I sigh heavily
Me - "I don't wanna talk about it"
L: "Yeah, those would be stories for another time... Don't want to make him relive those. I'll explain later."
S: Froakie - "Oh...well, ok then...should we try this again then? We'll go more slowly this time"
Me - "Yeah, I suppose so...I'm gonna try and not think about drowning"
L: "I'll make sure I dive at the same time as you this time, that always helps when you have trouble."
S: "Yeah, that usually does help... but this time I don't know, especially after...well you know and all, I don't know if I'll be able to dive"
L: "You can, you're always able to do it eventually! It just takes a bit for you to feel up for it each time."
S: Froakie - "Yeah, you and treecko seem to got something for each other, I know you'll be able to dive!"
Me - "I guess your right, ok...I'll try then"
L: Treecko gives you a hug. "That's the spirit! Come on, let's finally do this!" He starts deeply breathing again.
S: I hug the treecko back, feeling slightly better then before as I start deeply breathing too
froakie watches us with a smile, hoping I'll finally feel better for my first training session
L: Soon, Treecko is ready again, and this time does a countdown instead of just going. "Okay, 3, 2, 1!" He dives back underwater.
S: froakie takes a single breath and dives back underwater as well, and soon, I pinch my nose shut and finally dive underwater as well
L: Treecko smiles as you join him and Froakie this time, and he starts swimming down toward the bottom of the pool, though he makes sure to stay fairly close to you.
S: I was a bit nervous again, but I slowly follow froakie and treecko to the bottom of the pool, letting some small bubbles loose
L: Treecko sits down on the bottom of the pool, looking up at the bubbles for a moment before closing his eyes to relax.
S: I sit down next to treecko, I whimper a little as I look around nervously, unable to relax at the moment
froakie sits down as well as keeps time in his head just in case, hearing the whimpers from me made him frown a bit
L: Hearing your whimpering, Treecko looks over at you, concerned... Before hopping into your lap, hoping that'll help you keep calm.
S: I noticed treecko was settling into my lap, feeling his presence more closely to me made me feel a little better, I give him a hug, slowly starting to calm down
the froakie sees this and smiles, he then wraps an arm around me to help keep me as relaxed as possible, which all seems to be helping
L: Treecko hugs you back, wagging his tails a little before he goes back to relaxing, keeping any bubbles from leaving him.
S: my tail sways a little happily, enjoying the comfort as I finally close my eyes, barely letting any bubbles loose
the froakie just watches the two calmly hold their breath, waiting until they get low on breath
L: The minutes slowly pass by, and while a blush does eventually form on Treecko's face, he still looks perfectly calm at that point.
S: a blush starts to form on my face as well, and I was starting to feel nervous again
the froakie watches us closely, he could tell i was getting scared again, but he doesn't say anything until I was truly scared
L: Treecko looks up at you a little concerned, making sure you're still doing alright, since he noticed that you're starting to get nervous.
S: as my face grows more red, i couldn't relax anymore, I open my eyes and start to whimper out some bubbles, clearly I was in no mood to push myself
L: And, knowing not to push you right now, Treecko gestures toward the surface as he looks over at Froakie. "Ibl thblink hble wablnts tblo stblop."
S: I nod my head
Froakie - "Oblk thblen"
I start to swim up to the surface and froakie slowly follows behind
L: Treecko comes up as well, figuring he probably shouldn't push himself just yet either.
S: Froakie - "Exactly! You'll be just fine! And what do you mean you almost drowned two times? What
S: eventually we all surface, and I gasp a bit heavily for air while froakie calmly exhales
Froakie - "Not bad for your first dive, I can tell you really don't wanna push it today"
Me - "Y-yeah..."
L: Treecko just lightly gasps. "Yeah, he's not usually a fan of pushing himself in breath holding. When he's in the right mood he'll do it, but I think he just prefers relaxing, like I do."
S: "Yeah, that's exactly right... I don't like pushing myself that often..."
Froakie - "Hey there's nothing wrong with that, casual sessions are perfectly fine"
L: "They totally are, yeah! You can still have fun underwater without needing to be struggling to hold your breath!"
S: "Exactly!"
Me - "and that's what I want, to keep the training casual...nothing serious"
L: "So, should we go back under for a while? Maybe we could swim around this time instead of just staying in one spot."
S: "I don't know... maybe this wasn't such a good idea anymore... I'm still stressed about drowning..."
Froakie - "Hey...it's alright Emilio... you don't have to if you don't want to...it's all your choice"
L: "Oh, we can stop if you want, that'd be alright with me. We can just have a break for a while."
S: Froakie - "Actually I gotta go do something real quick, it shouldn't take me long tho, so I'll be right back" the froakie then hops away, and after a few seconds, someone else came in
Snivy - "Well well well...looks like we meet again Treecko"
Me - "Huh??"
L: "Of course you happen to come here... Can we not just challenge each other this time? My friend and I just want to hang out for now."
S: Snivy - "Heh, what's the matter? You too scared that I'll beat you this time?? I've been practicing a lot, and now you won't stand a chance against me! Your a chicken!"
Me - "I'm guessing that's your rival, oh boy..."
L: "Yeah, that's him... Look, I'm not scared, but my friend doesn't like seeing me struggling to hold my breath, and I don't want to freak him out!"
S: Snivy - "Excuses excuses excuses...if your not scared then you will do a contest with me to prove you aren't scared, I don't care about your friend!"
Me - "Hey!! That's not nice... treecko is my best friend!" I frown sadly at that
L: Treecko visibly gets a bit angry at Snivy. "Fine, I'll do it! Ugh..." He turns to you. "Sorry about this, I know you're not gonna like watching this..."
S: "What?? Oh come on treecko... don't let him get into your head... ugh..."
Snivy - "Much better, now come on, chop chop!" the snivy puts on their goggles and hops into the pool with them and immediately starts taking deep breathes
L: "I'm sorry, but I have to do this or he's not gonna let it go! He made fun of me for weeks the last time I turned him down!" Treecko starts deeply breathing as well.
S: Me - "He did?? Yikes... I'm sorry... well I'm still gonna come with you to make sure your ok..." I start to take deep breathes as well
Snivy - "Alright let's get it on! Your going down! 3....2...1!" the snivy takes a last gasp before he plunges underwater, swimming down to the bottom of the pool
L: Treecko quickly gets one last breath and dives down with the snivy, sitting down on the bottom again to relax as much as possible.
S: even tho I was scared for treecko to watch him push himself, I just couldn't say no to watching him, so I take a last deep breath and dive down as well, sitting down on the bottom next to treecko and wrapping an arm around him
the snivy meanwhile seems to be in a peace meditative state, his eyes close as he litteraly manages to meditate while being underwater, no bubbles escaping him at all
L: Treecko isn't quite meditating, but he's still pretty relaxed as well, not losing any bubbles either as he focuses on doing nothing.
S: eventually we all surface, and I gasp a bit heavily for air while froakie calmly exhales Froakie
S: I watch in astonishment as the snivy manages to meditate so peacefully, I look over at treecko worringly, wanting to make sure my best buddy was ok
meanwhile, the froakie returns and finds nobody, but he thinks that me and treecko are just spending some 1 on 1 time together underwater, so wanting to respect that, they wait on the surface for them come up
L: After glancing over at you for a moment, trying to give you a reassuring look, Treecko closes his eyes again. His cheeks are a little puffed, but it's clear he's still got a while to go before he'll be under any strain.
S: my own cheeks puff a bit as well, letting some small bubbles escape my mouth, I give treecko a hug to help him and myself calm down, still worried deep down
the snivy is still perfectly relaxed, his cheeks aren't even puffed as he continues to meditate, not under any strain what so ever
L: Treecko smiles at the hug, but doesn't hug you back, wanting to preserve as much of his oxygen as possible.
S: about 8 minutes passes by, the snivy still under no strain at all, not a single bubble has left him during that time... I keep hugging the treecko as I was still worried about him
L: By now, Treecko is blushing a little, and occasional little bubbles slip free from his nose, but he does still seem to be doing alright despite that.
S: I notice treecko's blush and immediately get concerned, but I try to calm down about it
the snivy let's a very small bubble or two occasionally but he's still very calm, even as we approach double digits, 11 minutes in total
L: The first little grunt is finally audible from Treecko, as he peeks over at the snivy to check how they're doing. He tries not to get nervous about how they still seem more relaxed than him.
S: my own face was fully red, grunting more then the treecko or snivy, but I was determined to stay down to comfort and support treecko
the snivy can be seen smirking as he's still calm, not a single grunt of strain escaping him as we hit 15 minutes
L: Treecko's face is getting more red over time, and he holds his nose shut to make sure he doesn't lose any more air, knowing this is probably going to be close.
S: seeing that, I hold my own nose shut as well, and the snivy after a while does the same, bit it's clear the snivy is still very calm, a very slight blush finally forming on his face
L: Eventually, Treecko's face is entirely red, and his grunting is gradually getting more frequent. Still, he's determined to beat the snivy, and stays where he is.
S: my eyes go wide as the treecko begins to push himself, I couldn't watch him suffer, I tugged his body and begged him to go up to the surface, in this scenario he's not gonna win, the snivy is still very calm, he hasn't even grunted yet, even as we approach 20 minutes, tho his face is a tiny bit more red
L: Treecko shakes his head, refusing to give up despite his strain. He covers his mouth with his free hand, glaring at the snivy.
S: the snivy opens his eyes and sees the treecko struggling, he giggles out some bubbles and shakes his head disapprovingly, then he goes back to relaxing
I on the other hand was having enough of this
Me - "Bublddy! Yblou nebled to gblo ublp! I am nblot aboblut to wabltch yblou publsh yoblurself!" I tug on the treecko to get him to snap outta it and go back up, he's clearly not gonna win
L: Seeing how the snivy is doing so much better than he is, Treecko looks up at the surface... He whines a little in defeat as he starts swimming back up.
S: I sigh out bubbles in relieve and start to swim back up as well as we get back up and gasp heavily for air
the snivy sees this smirks again, waiting until they surface before calmly kicking himself upwards to the surface, calming gasping for air
Snivy - "Hahaha!!! I won! You didn't stand a chance!"
S: I watch in astonishment as the snivy manages to meditate so peacefully, I look over at treecko wo
L: Treecko catches his breath. "L-look, I told you I didn't want to do this right now!"
He notices Froakie had come back at some point. "Oh, hi again. Yeah, Snivy's here, he showed up just after you left."
S: Froakie - "Oh dear, it's that snivy again, and it looks like he won this time"
Snivy - "Hahaha!! Loser!!!" the snivy sticks his tongue out at treecko then he gets out of the pool and skips away, celebrating his victory
Me - "The nerve of that guy..."
L: Treecko sighs. "They're always so annoying about it... At least that's over. Kind of messed up the mood though..."
S: "I'm definitely done with this now, if I wasn't before then now I am most certinaly done"
Froakie - "Yeah that ruined the mood... sorry about your rival treecko, we can try this again some other time and hope he doesn't come back..."
L: "Yeah, alright, we'll just stop for now... At least we got SOME practice done. Hopefully next time will go better."
S: "I agree, welp... I'll see you guys later then" the froakie hops away
Me - "Oh well, I guess I should head back home then..."
L: "I may as well go with you, Emilio, if that's alright. Wouldn't be much fun swimming on my own." Treecko gets out of the pool and takes off his goggles.
S: I get out as well and take off my goggles "That's perfectly fine buddy... come on let's get outta here" I wrap an arm around treecko and walk with him towards my home
L: Treecko catches his breath. "L-look, I told you I didn't want to do this right now!" He notices
