So… here we go again!
The pre-production of this second volume took me long enough. Between visually expanding what I already had written for the worldbuilding (such as the case of the fauna with the Sekernyr), the design of the supporting characters and obviously the script which made me struggle a lot trying to close it in no more than 32 pages (I wanted it to be 30 like the previous one, but I really needed an extra couple to properly finish it) I ended up taking almost 6 months D:
The other thing is the issue with backgrounds. I'm not particularly proficient in that aspect yet so I usually try to avoid having to draw them much. In "The Crimson Heart'' the swamp and the tomb didn’t play a central part in the plot (well, I admit that perhaps Ulama's tomb could have benefited with a little bit more work), but because of that, I had the freedom to be more negligent with them. However, in "One Hundred Years of Absence" I am going to introduce Daverzum, which is an important location, both for the plot and for the world of Ánima so I’ll have to give more love to the backgrounds and well... It will be a fight to the death with vanishing points, distribution of details and dynamic compositions.
PS: I started working on the cover in September and I just finished it today c':
