Wednesday

8:00 A.M.

The family was having breakfast in the dining room, listening to some Christmas music on the radio. Angelina didn’t have school since it was Christmas Break. Lonstan was spoon-feeding his son some oran-berry oatmeal while his wife went through the mail that was delivered today. She came across an envelope from the Alolan Vacation Corporation, and opened it using her personal letter opener by using her left vine. Grabbing her reading glasses with her right vine as she read it over, it said this:

Congratulations, your family has been chosen for our free two-week holiday trip to the Alola region! Enclosed inside are tickets for your first-class flight. A personal limo will be taking you to the private section of Striaton City Airport, make sure to keep track of your tickets, or else you won’t be able to board the plane. Your ride will arrive tomorrow at seven a.m. or earlier.

When the chauffeur arrives at your home, give your tickets to the driver so they can hand them over to security for verification. Make sure to treat them and the vehicle with respect, we are not responsible for any damage done by any family members.

Have a safe and wonderful holiday!

After the serperior had finished reading the envelope, she let out a joyful scream that surprised the rest of the family. Nick and Angelina were a bit surprised, wondering what happened. Even Lonstan was caught off guard while feeding his son, nearly dropping the spoon-ful of oatmeal.

“What happened mom?” the grass snake.

“Hmm?” the pup inquired.

“What is it dear?” the gallade questioned.

“I’ve got wonderful news, we’ve won a two-week holiday trip to the Alola region!” exclaimed Ranae as she put the letter down to show the kids. Angelina read it over and was filled with excitment, passing it to her father who proceeded to look it over. “There will be another family with us as well. The sweepstakes did mention that two would be selected.” While the pup couldn’t read, he knew it sounded great!

“Yay! Yay!” exclaimed Nicky as he excitedly stood up in his high-chair.

“This is groovy news!” the grass-type shouted.

“That is wonderful news, dear!” said Lonstan as his lips curved into a smile, giving his wife a gentle kiss on the lips. “I wasn’t expecting us to win, but I guess lucky things can happen.”

“Let’s get packed, make sure to pick out appropriate clothes for the warmer weather. This is going to be a wonderful holiday vacation! We’ll be flying in First Class!” said Ranae. “Including… a free hotel stay as well!”

“Alright mom, I look forward to it!” said Angelina.

For most of the day, everyone in the house started packing their luggages for their flight. Angelina made sure to fill the diaper bag with plenty of supplies, along with packing clothing for the trip. While watching her pack, the little pup had a question that was on his mind.

“Sissy, what’s fwirst clwass?” He asked.

“It’s a luxurious travel class compared to economy, one of the best ways to fly in comfort.” She explained.

“Oooh.” said Nick.

“We’ll have a comfortable flight while getting to our destination.” said Angelina as she playfully ruffled her little brother’s head. “Be sure to savor every moment of this!”

“I will, sissy!” said the riolu.

The grass snake decided to pack her little brother’s clothing along with her own, which reduced how many suitcases they needed to carry with them. Her mother had the same idea when she was packing her articles of clothing. Lostan made sure to call his boss, notifying him that he’d be on vacation tomorrow.

Ranae was pleased that they won a free holiday vacation. She was looking forward to getting some rays while her children played on the beach, maybe even getting a tropical drink to top it all off. It seemed like the ideal paradise to grassy serpent.

After she finished packing her suitcase, the serperior pondered about the second family who would be joining them. Was it going to be someone from the neighborhood? Maybe from a different town? She didn’t have a clue since it wasn’t mentioned in the letter they received.

Lonstan was looking over things in the suitcase, making sure he had everything packed up properly. The gallade didn’t want his clothing being in a jumbled mess. He packed a few tropical shirts and some other clothes for the trip, and had one other tropical shirt in the closet. Which he planned on wearing tomorrow, since it was the perfect one.

“This will be one of the best vacation’s ever!” the gallade said.

The sun slowly rose over the city, just as the morning traffic started up. The entire family made sure to wake up early and get ready, they didn’t want to be late to the airport. Everyone was dressed in light-clothing, with a warm coat over it since it was still cold out, along with boots for those who could wear them. They stood outside with their suitcases and carry-on bags, waiting for the limousine to arrive. Angelina was carrying the white diaper bag over her shoulders.

Nick wore tan khaki shorts with a button-up shirt decorated with tropical flowers, which was similar to what his father was wearing. The mother and daughter donned matching dresses, which were dark-green with a yellow hibiscus flower pattern. It was currently six-thirty a.m.

“I’m so excwited, sissy!” said the pup.

“It’s going to be wonderful!” said the grass snake.

“Got everything we need? ” asked Ranae

“Yes mom, everything is ready!” said Angelina.

“Excellent work, do you have the passports dear?” Lonstan inquired.

“Of course, I always make sure to bring them when traveling!” the grass serpent replied.

After the final check was completed, the family heard the honking of a vehicle approaching their house. It was a white limousine with green and red pinetrees painted onto both sides. The driver parked the vehicle and stepped out of it, opening the passenger dooors.

“Good morning folks, go ahead and hand me your tickets. I’ll load your luggages into the trunk.” said the chauffeur

“Thank you sir,” said the grass snake.

The mother slithered up to the chauffeur and used her vine to hand over the plane tickets to the man, entering the vehicle shortly after. Her husband went inside, with his two children following behind. The little pup waved to the man while entering the limo.

The chauffeur loaded their luggage into the trunk of the limousine, making sure that everything fit inside. When that was finished, they got back into the driver side and began driving off to the Striaton City Airport. The roads weren’t as icy, which allowed for smooth travel.

It wouldn’t take long to reach the private section of the airport, there was a metal gate being guarded by two security officers. This included an employee sitting inside a booth that operated the gate. The driver slowly approached the gate and stopped his vehicle when he got close enough.

The officers smiled and slowly approached the driver side, watching as the windows were opened up for the moment. This was for a security inspection of the vehicle. One male officer approached the driver while the second went to the passenger side to look inside of it.

“Good morning, may I ask your purpose for being here?” the officer asked.

“Just transporting a lucky family that won the two-week holiday vacation sweepstake. Here’s the tickets to prove it.” said the chauffeur as he handed them over.

The security officer examined them, making sure they were verified and not illegal. After a minute passed, they handed the tickets back to the driver who then proceeded to give them back to the family through a little slot in the glass window section that separated the driver from its passengers.

“Alright, go ahead in.” said the first officer.

“Have a good time folks!” said the second one.
Both of the officers gave a thumbs up to the employee in the booth, and watched as the metal gate slowly opened up. The driver drove through the opening, and parked it inside of a marked spot for transportation vehicles like busses and limousines.

The man got out and opened the passenger doors, watching as they carefully exited the vehicle. Upon approaching the small commercial jet, the Marbettes were surprised to see that the Morrisons were the second family that was selected as the secondary winner.

“Oh goodness! It’s the Morrisons!” exclaimed Angelina.

“Well then… this is an unexpected surprise. Greetings Randa.” said Ranae.

“Hey Ranae, I’m just as surprised as you. But yeah, we won!” said Randa.

Ritha looked at the pup while giving him the stink-eye, she made sure to keep her distance from him. Since she didn’t want to be near him in the slightest. She was in a tropical pink and black dress with a black child-sized coat covering it, along with small pink boots.

“You're in luck, brat. I won’t be bullying you while on vacation.” said the vullaby.

“That’s great, but you shouldn’t be bullying him at all. Can’t you get along with him instead?” asked the grass snake.

“Being friends with him?! No way!” exclaimed Ritha as she scoffed.

Nick looked at the medium-sized commercial jet that was being fueled up for the flight: it was a white plane that had red and green ornaments painted on the exterior. This included tropical paint trees in the same color. It said on the front in big silver letters ‘Off To Vacation: Alolan Vacation Airliner’

Boarding Stairs were being set up near the passengers door to the aircraft, they had a steel railing with christmas decorations going along it. Both families watched as one of the doors was opened up, with the pilot stepping out to greet the winners. It was a man in a blue pilot’s uniform with a light-blue pilots cap, he appeared to be in his seventies.

“Congratulations on winning the sweepstakes folks, I’ll be your pilot for the trip. Please make sure to hand over your tickets so I can punch them in!” said the man as he went back inside the aircraft.

“Well, that’s our cue. Let’s head inside!” said Angelina.

“Yes sissy!” said the riolu.

Both of the families went inside the aircraft, holding their own individual tickets tightly. Not wanting to lose track of them, since they couldn’t fly without them. Upon entering the plane, they were greeted by a fabulous first class interior: comfortable leather seats with plenty of leg space, medium-sized tables, two television screens on a stand built into the middle of the each table, and even a personal bar. It even had Christmas decorations all over the place. There were two seats to every row, on both sides of the tables.

The pup was so entranced and excited by everything, that he didn’t the notice the pilot walking to him with the ticket puncher. The man gently tapped him on the shoulder and said “Pardon me, may I punch your ticket young man?” Nick turned around and nodded, handing him his ticket.

“Thank you,” the pilot said as he punched his ticket in and gave it back.

The man would do the same for the rest of the passengers, and cleared his throat so he could have their attention for an on-board announcement.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I’d like to give some important instructions before we take off: It’s important to remain in your seats before we reach forty-two thousand feet, to avoid passenger injuries. Please don’t smoke in the bathroom, that will set off the smoke alarms. Make sure to treat on-board butlers and maids with respect, and also… do not damage anything. You’ll be penalized otherwise.” said the pilot.

“We understand sir!” said the serperior.

“Understood sir.” said Adrian.

“We’ll make sure to best on our best behavior.” said Ranae.

“Excellent to hear, we’ll be taking off momentarily! Make sure to be seated and buckled up! Booster seats for younger children are located under your seats.” said the pilot as he headed to the cockpit.

Both of the families looked around and sat down where they desired, Ritha made sure to sit far away from the kid she hated most. Lonstan and Adrian made sure to set up the booster seats before getting their children buckled up. Once the passengers on board were seated, the pilot turned on the engine and began turning the plane around so it could be ready for take off.

The aircraft was driven onto the airstrip once they were given the go-ahead by the air traffic control and started picking up speed before flying off the ground and into the air. The pup was slightly nervous about this feeling of flying, but his sister was nearby to assure him that it was going to be fine. Patting him on the head.

Once the plane had reached forty-two thousand feet, the pilot made an announcement across the entire aircraft through the on-voice speakers: “Attention passengers, this is your captain speaking. We are now at forty-two thousand feet, and you may move about the cabin. We’ll be arriving at the Alola region in three-hours, so make yourself comfortable. Food and drink service will be coming momentarily. You may also utilize the personal drink bar if desired, but be responsible.”

“That’s great, I wouldn’t mind having something for lunch.” said Ranae.

“Want anything son?” asked Lonstan.

Nick looked at the on-board menu that was displayed on screen, pointing to a meal item that had berries and shrimp in a glass bowl, it looked rather appetizing to the baby. Especially those berries that sat in the bowl.

“I want thwat, pwease!” said the pup.

“Are you sure, little brother?” asked the grass snake.

“Ahuh!” he answered.

“Looks like he wants the shrimp, I’m thinking of getting the same.” said Lonstan.

“I’ll get it too, why not?” asked Ranae.

After twenty seconds later, a butler in a red tuxedo entered the passenger section and walked over to the Marbettes. He was holding a notepad and pen for writing down orders. He looked towards them with a gentle smile.

“Good afternoon, what would you like to order?” the butler asked.

“We’ll be having the Shrimp and Berries.” said the serperior.

“Alright… and for drinks?” he asked.

“Me and my wife will take the uhh….” said the gallade as he looked through the drinks menu. “We’ll take the Sitrus Berry Mimosa.”

“May I have Orange Juice?” asked Angelina.

“Sounds good, any drinks for the little guy?” the butler inquired.

“He’ll be having his usual infant formula, he doesn’t need a drink order.” said the serperior.

“Understood, I’ll be sure to send it to the kitchen when I am done writing down orders.” said the man as he walked over to the Morrisons and asked for their order. They asked for the Salmon with Pecha berries, including a few glasses of Oran Berry Champaign.

While waiting for their drinks, Angelina got some baby toys out of her carry-on bag and entertained her little brother. Ritha would be watching some generic kids movie on the screen in front of her, while sitting back in her seat. Everything had been going smoothly as of far.

The drinks would be the first to arrive, as per usual when it came to ordering a meal. There were two wine glasses filled with an orangish-yellow juice sitting on the dining cart, along with a small plastic cup being filled with orange juice. It was being pushed by a butler in a red and green tuxedo. The man happily placed them on the table. The little pup curiously stared at the beverages as his parents said “Thank you” and took a sip from the glass. He reached out to gently grab it, only to be stopped by his sister who was sitting across from him.

“Uh-uh-uh, that’s an adult drink little brother.” said Angelina. “You’re not old enough for that yet.”

“Oh…” said Nick.

“Don’t worry, I’m sure you’ll grow up soon enough.” Ranae said to him, chuckling.

“Your infant formula gives you plenty of nutrients.” said the grass snake.

The snivy grabbed a baby bottle from the diaper bag, and handed it to her baby brother by using her vines. She watched as the pup gently grabbed it and started suckling on the rubber nipple, slowly drinking down the white liquid. The grass snake chuckled a bit and took a sip of her orange juice, while watching the television screen.

An hour after the drinks were served, the same man returned with the dining cart. Ready to serve the families the meals that they ordered. The scent of freshly-cooked seafood pervaded the passenger cabin. The pup watched with excitement as his tail wagged, staring at the man who was placing the glass bowls on the table, along with a side of dining utensils.

“There we go, enjoy your meal.” said the butler as he moved to the dining cart to the other side and gave the Morrisons their meals.

“Thank you, sir!” said Angelina.

The pup was about to start eating with his paws, but his mothers used her vines to stop him for a moment. He looked on with confusion as the serperior giggled.

“Silly pup, you don’t eat with your paws. You eat with these untensils. Let me show you.” said Ranae as she demonstrated by picking up the fork with her vine and stabbed a shrimp, putting it up to her mouth and eating it right off the fork. “Just like that honey, why don’t you try it?”

“Okway!” said Nick as he tried to pick up his fork, only to drop it on the plate by accident. It made a small clattering sound when it hit the glass bowl. The serperior smiled, being patience with her son as she used her vines to guide the boy’s paws into picking up his fork, and then brought it up to his mouth. The little baby ate the food off the fork, and enjoyed the taste of the small crustacean. “It tastes!”

“How does it taste son?” asked Lonstan.

“It tastes…. Good!” exclaimed the pup.

“Wow, I am surprised! I think we’ve discovered his favorite food.” said Angelina.

“Some kids are usually particular with food, but seems like he isn’t as picky.” said the gallade.

The pup continued to eat his food, doing his best to pick up the fork he was provided with. He was able to use it sometimes, but dropped it most of the time. Which embarrassed him. His mother pat him on the head with her left vine, showing that it was okay to make mistakes, and that he was learning.

After everyone had consumed their meals, a maid came by and collected the dirty dishes. Nick let out an audible burp and said “Excwuse me.” Both of his parents chuckled and responded with “You are excused, son!” The shiny pup was satisfied and full from his food.

A short yawn was emitted from the young pup as he began to nod off, his big sister noticed as she slowly patted him on the head. Pleased that her baby brother hadn't gotten fussy during the whole trip. It was excellent behavior!

The serperior watched as her son fell asleep in the comfortable chair he was sitting in, deciding to use her vines to press a wooden button on the side. Watching as it gently reclined back. She looked over towards the other family, and noticed that they were already napping.

It was a grand opportunity to get some shut-eye since it was going to be a while before they arrived at their vacation destination. They activated the switches on the side of their seats, and gently laid back as the head of the seat slowly adjusted.

With the passenger cabin going quiet for the time being, the butlers and maids used this opportunity to have a break of their own. The captain set the aircraft into autopilot, making sure to keep an eye out for any incoming planes that may potentially crash into them if they didn’t manuever out of the way.

The sound of a digital bell sounded off in the passenger cabin, rousing the passengers from their sleep. They’ve been asleep for the past few hours, but were feeling refreshed. An announcement was about to be given over the speakers, so they made sure to listen up.

“Attention passengers, this is your captain speaking. We are currently one-hour away from our destination due to the wind currents boosting our speed. Thank you for being patient during our flight, and I hope you enjoy sipping cocktails while taking in the ocean breeze.” said the captain as he switched off the speaker.

Nick would let out a yawn after waking up from his two-hour nap, hearing the announcement excited him a lot. Which was interrupted by quiet gurgling in his stomach. It was the call of nature. The little one lifted his rear a bit, just as his tail flagged high.

His sister looked up at her little brother as she watched him scrunch his face while letting out some strained grunts, knowing what was about to happen. She chuckled and said “Good thing I packed plenty of diapers.” The grass snake gently used her vines to pat her brother on the back.

“Just let it out all out, son.” said Lonstan.

“Hnnnngh! Mmmpgh!”

FRRRRT! BLORT! SPLORTCH! PSSSSH! SMURSH! CRINKLE!

The back of his shorts protruded outwards and bulked up from the mid-sized loads he was depositing into the seat of his diaper, just as the front of it warmed up nicely. It was going to be quite a diaper to change. Ritha was also doing the same thing.  Both kiddos let out a sigh of relief, sitting back down as their diapers squished against the seat.

“Time for a diaper change, little brother!” said Angelina in a sing-song tone.

“Let’s get you cleaned up, my daughter.” Adrian said.

Angelina picked up the stinky pup using her vines, exiting from her seat as she headed to the bathroom. The honchkrow watched as she headed into restroom, allowing her the opportunity to change her little brother before going in to change his daughter.

“I think our daughter will be a perfect nurse one day, don’t you think so?” asked Ranae.

“Yes, I definitely believe so. Her patient and gentle nature will allow her to easily get along with her patients.” said Lonstan.

When they entered the bathroom, it was bigger than the ones in the economy class sections of commercial airplanes. The floor was shiny and clean, and it had scented air fresheners on the wall that smelled like Oran Berries. It included a changing table, sink, toilet, trash-can, and a small shower. The grass-type was impressed by how nice it all was.

“Okay Nickster, let’s take a look inside.” said the snivy.

The grass snake put the changing table down, and set her little brother flat on his back. Making sure his whole body was on the changing table. She took off his shorts and began untaping the messy diaper. She giggled a bit as the size of his messy diaper.

“Goodness Nickster, you’ve got the whole gift sack in here!” said the grass snake. “Just kidding!”

His big sister got to work on changing him into a new diaper, making sure to wipe his bottom and apply baby oil where it was needed. The pup was wiggling around a bit, but it didn’t hinder her due to how much experience she had from her internship.

When that was finished, she grabbed a new Jeanies diaper and taped it onto her baby brother. Making sure it was nice and snug around his waist, adding baby powder into the back of it.

“There we go, nice and clean little brother!” said Angelina.

“Thwankies!” said Nick.

“You’re welcome, Nickster.” said the grass-snake.

The grass-snake washed her hands before redressing the pup in his tan khaki shorts, and grabbing him from the changing table using her vines. She then exited the bathroom and headed back to her seat, making sure to place Nick back in his seat.

Adrian headed to the bathroom once it was unoccupied, grabbing his daughter and holding her gently in his wings. The dark little bird seemed rather hesitant to be changed, as she kept trying to wiggle free. But the father wasn’t letting go.

“Let go daddy! I was watching tv!” said Ritha.

“You can continue watching after your changed, I don’t need my daughter getting a diaper rash.” the honchrow explained as he entered the bathroom. His wife was just relaxing and watching some comedy show, while she let her husband deal with the dirty work.

While it took a bit longer to change his daughter, the task was eventually completed. Ritha was now in a fresh diaper, even she was a bit grumpy.

The serperior had heard the whole commotion, pleased that Nicky didn’t try anything like that yet. He was being a well-behaved boy so far. Especially for his first time flying on a plane. She smiled as she watched a documentary about the ocean.

Angelina was reading a book to her little brother, it was a children’s book called ‘The Adventures of Mister Delibird: The Gift Giver’. It had plenty of pictures, which is perfect for the pup since he couldn’t quite read yet. He heard about this jolly flying-type from his parents last year before his first birthday, they always told him how he delivered presents to the good children around the world.

One Hour Later….

The plane began to slowly descend as it was getting close to the Alola region, which was felt by all the passengers on the plane. Nick was confused about this feeling, so his sister made sure to explain it to him.

“When a plane begins to descend, that means we’re close to our destination.” said Angelina.

“Oooah, yay!” said Nick.

“You’ve been a good boy so far, I’m sure Mister Delibird will get you lots of gifts. You did write a list and send it in the mail last week.” said Ranae.

The conversation was interrupted when the sound of a digital bell rang out through-out the cabin, notifying the passengers that an announcement from the captain was coming. Both of the families made sure to listen carefully.

“Attention passengers, this is your captain speaking. We’ll be arriving in Hau’oli City in twenty-five minutes, make sure to be buckled in while we make our descent. Thank you for flying with Alola Vacation Airliner!” said the captain as he turned off the speaker once he finished.

“Hellooo tropical vacation!” said the grassy snake.

“I’m looking forward to it!” said Ranae.

“Let’s have a good time, good thing I packed my camera in our carry-on bag.” said Lonstan.

“Vacwation!” exclaimed Nick.

The families remained in their seats during the final descent, relaxing for the rest of their first-class flight. All the television screens had turned off since they were going to be arriving at their destination soon.
The aircraft eventually made its landing at the Hau’oli City International Airport, several hula dancers in grass-skirts were waiting outside the plane to greet the sweepstake winners. In front of them was a man in a white tuxedo, white dress shoes, white and black fedora, and white trimmed sunglasses. He had tanned skin.

“Looks like they arrived on time, well… time to give them the traditional welcome!” said the man as he watched the airstares get set up near the door to the passenger side. Once they were set up, the two families exited the plane as they were greeted by hula dancers. They were surprised and happy from what they were seeing. There was so many unique pokemon there to greet them, it was a fantastic welcome party!

“Woaaah!” exclaimed Nick as he looked around at everything.

“Welcome to Alola, we’re happy to have you here!” exclaimed a group of comfeys who placed colorful leis around their necks.

“Oh my, look at that Exegutor! It’s so tall!” said Angelina.

“Including that vulpix, it’s got white fur instead of its traditional color!” said Ranae.

“Interesting… there’s many different pokemon here.” said Ritha.

The families headed down the stairs as the man gently approached them, he was quite pleased to see such excited energy coming from them. Especially since it’s their first time to the region. A Crawdaunt bellboy was collecting their luggage from the aircraft to take to the hotel.

“Alola, and welcome to the Alola region! You’re currently in Hau’oli City, located on Melemele Island!” said the gentleman as he put his hands together in the air and waved them downwards in the form of a rainbow. He adjusted his tie slightly as he looked at the families. “I’m Kukui, and I’m the Owner of the Grand Gumshoos Hotel! Congratulations on winning the sweepstakes!”

“Thank you sir, we appreciate the warm welcome to such a tropical region!” said the serperior as she looked towards her family, smiling as she was about to introduce them. “This is my husband Lonstan, and my two kids: Nicholas and Angelina. We are the Marbettes!”

“I’m Adrian and this is my wife Randa, along with my daughter Ritha.” said the Honchkrow.

“Hello sir!” said the grass snake.

“Hwello!” the pup said.

“Hey there.” said Ritha in a plain tone.

“Nice to meet you, Kukui!” said the gallade.

“Pleasure to meetcha!” said the mandibuzz.

“Thank you, its a pleasure to meet you all in person. After all…. Hm? My goodness!” asked the man as he walked over to Nick and crouched down to eye-level with him. He was amazed to see a shiny riolu, which is considered rare outside of the Sinnoh region. “You’ve got a cute kiddo here, and a shiny one to boot!”

“That’s our boy! We adopted him last year from Blisswood Orphanage in Unova.” said Ranae.

“His former mother abandoned him before birth.” said Lonstan.

“It’s rather sad, but he’s got a good family to take care of him!” said Angelina.

“I’m sorry about that, Nick. No child deserves to be abandoned.” said the man as he got back on his feet. “You’ve taken good care of him!”

“Thank you, we only want the best for our son!” said the serperior.

“Now, without further ado… let me show you to your hotel room. It must’ve been a comfortable and tiring trip being in first-class. Follow me folks!” said Kukui.

“Right away, sir!” said Adrian.

Kukui brought them to the Grand Gumshoos Hotel, and lead them inside to the main lobby where several guests were sitting and waiting for their hotel rooms to be prepared. The walls were white with silver lining, and the floors were composed of white marble, with a large fountain in the center of the area, including roomy elevators made of gold.

There was also a restaurant located near the check-in desk, it was called The Silver Crawdaunt. Which is known for its four-star quality meals, and fantastic customer service. It was rated number two on the Best Resturaunts list for the region.

“This way, I’ve got electronic card keys to access your rooms.” said the man as he brought them inside the elevator.

The pup looked at the elevator panel and noticed how fancy it was, since it was in the shape of a small palm tree. The buttons had a green and red colored lights to them, very christmassy. He tried to press one of the buttons to see it did, but was stopped by Kukui.

“Hold on kiddo, its the fifth floor we’re heading to. That’s where your hotel suites are.” said Kukui as he pointed to the button with the number five labled on it. “That’s the button you want to press, go ahead and press it.” Nick nodded and playfully pressed the button, hearing the elevator doors immediately close afterwards. The elevator began to make its ascent to the fifth floor.

“Thwank you!” said Nick.

“Not a problem kiddo, I figured that you’d want to try it.” said the man.

“I’m guessing you’ve had a lot of smaller guests doing the same thing?” the grass snake inquired.

“Indeed so, young lady. I don’t really mind it though, it’s kind of cute!” said Kukui.

“Yeah right… I’m the cutest one here!” said Ritha.

“I’m sure you are, little lady!” said the owner. “You’re a rare pokemon as well, we don’t see many non-alolan pokemon in this region.”

“I’m better than that little shiny pup!” said the vullaby.

“Why so?” He asked.

“Because I’m meaner, and that means better!” said Ritha.

Angelina let out a sigh of disappointment, it seems that the bully might be trying to stir up a pot of trouble. Something she didn’t want to see while trying to enjoy her vacation. Kukui was wondering what the problem was, and decided to investigate a bit.

“What’s wrong?” Kukui inquired.

“Ritha is the neighborhood bully, she always picks on my little brother when she gets the chance.” said Angelina.

“That’s not very nice, better be on your best behavior.” the owner said to the vullaby.

“Don’t worry… I don’t intend to do any bullying while on vacation.” said Ritha.

“Well, that’s good to hear then. Though I wonder… why can’t you get along with him?” Kukui inquired.

“Because he always gets everything he wants, and I always get into trouble by him.” said the dark-type chick.

“I’m sure you’ll become friends while you’re here. At the Grand Gumshoos Hotel, we have a slogan that goes like this: a friendship kindled from kindness, is one that lasts until the end of time.” said the man as the lift arrived at the fifth floor, watching as the elevator doors opened.

The whole fifth floor had ten hotel suites with several hallways that lead to different sections of the area. There was a grand pool, kids playroom, spa, private lounge, and even a movie theater. It was the biggest floor in the whole hotel, and its like that for a reason.

Kukui exited the elevator first and lead the families over to the rooms that they were staying in, making sure they were following behind him as they did so. Nick looked at all the doors while walking beside his big sister, he noticed they all had pictures of berries engraved onto them in silver. The names were printed below in gold.

“Ah, you’ve noticed the unique way that rooms are sorted by on the fifth floor.” said the owner as he chuckled to himself while the pup looked around. “You see… we don’t do it by number compared to the other floors. We do it by the name of berries. It was a unique idea that several employees came up with. It became popular with rich tourists who’ve come to stay at this hotel over the years. Now… get ready to see your beautiful suites!”

The owner brought them two doors that had an Oran berry and Sitrus Berry, he gently handed Lonstan the Oran Berry Card while Adrian received the Sitrus Berry Card. In order to differentiate them from one another, the cards had matching colors that represented each berry on the door.

The gallade and Honchkow unlocked them using their electronic keycards, opening them afterwards after hearing an electronic beep and click sound go off. Which meant it was unlocked. Both families entered their respective hotel suites, and what they saw took their breath away for a moment!

These hotel suites had a medium-sized kitchen with a dining room, along with a living room that had a wide-screen tv that stood on a wooden rectangular stand. With the most comfortable tan leather couches, and a wooden coffee table. The walls were painted white with black palm-tree silloutes added on for decoration, with glossy porcelain wood floors.

In-between the doors that lead to the bedrooms were the suitcases that were brought up to their rooms ahead from the aircraft luggage, and there were windows that had a beautiful view of the beach down below. It came with white curtains that can easily be adjusted, just in case they wanted to cover the whole window.

By the living room was a closet that contained some blankets, just in case anyone wanted to get comfortable during the night or wanted to sleep on the couch. The bathrooms were located in both bedrooms.

“It’s… it’s so beautiful!” said Angelina.

“I love it! Come on Nick!” said Ranae as she looked around.

“There’s also a crib in the first bedroom, for your little one to sleep in after a long day.” said Kukui

“We appreciate everything you’ve done.” said Lonstan.

“You’re welcome, please enjoy your time in the Alola region. I’ve got a dinner reservation at the Silver Crawdaunt for both of your families tonight at seven.” said the owner.

“We’ll be there for sure!” said the gallade.

“Excellent, and one other thing… in the first bedroom is a care package that contains baby clothing and other stuff that you might need. A gift from the Alolan Child Foundation!” said Kukui as he dusted himself off a bit. He looked at the pup who was walking around, amazed at everything he saw. He was pleased that they were enjoying everything. “I’ll let you all unpack and settle in, see you tonight!”
The owner left the room and went to go check on the other family, just to make sure they are satisfied with the hotel suite they were assigned. The Morrisons were definitely pleased since it had plenty of space for them and their daughter. He then headed back to the first floor, where his office was located.

While the pup was walking around in the big suite, he felt tired out and let out a big yawn. Angelina picked up her little brother and patted him on the head with her grass hands, noticing how the baby was starting to nod off. She brought him to the first bedroom, and placed him down in the crib for a nap. Right on his back.

The grass snake pulled the wool blanket over her little brother’s body and gently pat his head with one of her vines, watching as he drifted off to sleep. He looked so peaceful and comfortable, sleeping in the crib

“Nap well, my little brother!” said Angelina as she turned on the night-light, and left the bedroom. Making sure to shut the door on the way out.

The snivy went into the living room and sat down on the sofa, reaching for the tv remote that was on the coffee table. She turned it on and made sure the volume was set to low, not wanting to wake her little brother from his nap. Both parents decided to join her for watching some television.

Nick was fast asleep in his comfortable crib, in his own tropical dreamland of sorts. It had been quite a long trip for the pup, so he was going to need plenty of rest. He had been enjoying his vacation so far, and couldn’t wait to get out to the beach when it was possible.

Ranae and Lonstan were both glad nothing had gone wrong so far, since anything can happen while on a vacation elsewhere. It appeared to be a perfect tropical holiday, at least for the time being.

*****

It was now seven p.m. in the Alola region, a gentle warm breeze was brushing against the palm trees outside the hotel. Making them gently sway back and forth. The sun was beginning to set, which left an orange reflection of light upon the surface of the ocean.

Both of the families headed down to the first floor via the elevator, and made their way down to the Silver Crawdaunt restaurant. Once they arrived, they were escorted by a receptionist to the Owner’s Table. It was big round table booth with plenty of seating, meant for special occasions. The two kids were put into high-chairs after the rest had taken their seats at the table, both of the younger kids would be next to each other. The owner was at the center seat of the booth.

“Welcome to the Silver Crawdaunt, I’m glad you could make it!” said Kukui.

“I wouldn’t pass up on a wonderful evening dinner with the owner.” said Lonstan.

“That’s great to hear, I’ve already ordered beverages for everyone. Especially the little ones.” said the owner.

“How kind of you sir!” said Angelina.

“Thwank you!” said Nick.

“Thanks…” said Ritha.

A waiter arrived soon after with the drinks, and handed them out to the appropriate people in the table.  Angelina got Sitrus Berry Juice while all the adults got a Leppa Berry Sunrise On The Rocks, with the little kiddos getting sippy cups filled with coconut milk. He then gave everyone a menu to look at.

“Good evening folks, what would you like from the menu?” They asked.

They looked at the menu, searching for what they want. There was quite a lot to choices to select, but it was mostly sea-food on the menu. Nick had no trouble at all selecting what he wanted, immediately raising his left paw up. Which surprised his big sister.

“What would you like, little gentleman?” asked the waiter.

“Shwimp pwease!” said the little pup as he pointed with his paw finger to the Sitrus Berry Shrimp, which had shrimp cooked in Sitrus Berry juice with those exact berries next to it. The waiter looked and chuckled, quite surprised that the young kid knew what he wanted ahead of time.

“Okay young man, I’ll make sure that shrimp is cooked just right for you!” he replied.

The rest of the table made their orders, with Ritha deciding on Pecha Berry Salmon. She was curious and wanted to give it a try. The man nodded his head and headed off to bring the orders to the kitchen. It seems that the owner was rather impressed with the pup’s choice of meal.

“He’s a fan of sea-food, isn’t he?” asked Kukui.

“I’d definitely say so, it all started when he ordered shrimp on the plane ride here. He really enjoyed it.” said the serperior.

“I suppose he’s expanding his taste buds.” the gallade said.

“Well, he does need to try new things once in a while.” said the grass snake.

“That’s great, why don’t you tell me a little more about your son?” asked the owner.

Ranae went onto to describe her little boy in great detail, especially about how friendly and energetic he was. She mentioned that his favorite toy was a Black Toy Jeep that he liked to drive around the house. It was also mentioned that he threw a temper tantrum once, but it was only a separate case due to being told how to do it from the little brother of Angelina’s friend Marsha. He hasn’t done anything like that for quite a while and had been well-behaved.

Kukui chuckled and nodded his head, pleased to hear such information about the shiny pup. He then turned towards the Morrisons and asked them to describe their daughter in further detail. While he did hear about how she was a bully, they wanted to know more.

“Aside from what you know, she can be a bit stubborn at times, demanding as well. Her mean demeanor has gotten her into trouble many times, especially since I’ve had to return many toys that she had stolen from the neighborhood kids. ” said Adrian.

“I personally don’t find a problem with that, I was like that as a young kid.” Randa.

“Yes dear… but this is your daughter were talking about.” said the Honchkrow as he looked back at the owner. “I’m worried for my own little girl.”

“That is understandable, because after all… a kid with bad behavior could end up becoming a criminal upon reaching adult-hood if it’s not rectified. It’s possible, but not garunteed to happen.” said Kukui as he glanced at the dark-type bird for a moment. Who was about to drink some of her coconut milk when it had spilled onto the ground when she dropped it by accident.

The white milky liquid seeped out of the cup, and onto the carpeted floor. Which saddened the little dark bird a bit, since she had just started drinking it as well. Nick stopped drinking his when he heard Ritha quietly crying, looking down at the mess. In that little head of his, he heard the phrase from the owner echo from within.

“A friendship kindled from kindness, is one that lasts until the end of time.”

“I’m sorry about that, how about I ask a waiter for another one?” Adrian asked his daughter.

The dark-baby bird stopped crying as she looked at her father and nodded her head, she then noticed the pup handing over his sippy cup towards them. Kukui looked over at him with interest, wondering what was going to happen. She looked over at him in confusion. Nick’s big sister also observed what was happening.

“What are you doing, brat?” asked Ritha.

“Want it?” asked Nick who was offering the rest of his Coconut Milk.

Upon hearing this question, she was in a state of disbelief. The kid she hated most was offering her the rest of his coconut milk. She sat there in silence, not sure of how to answer to his unexpected kindness. The little pup felt bad that she spilled the rest of her drink.

She looked at him with slight anger, only for it to subside afterwards, letting out a sad sigh. She promptly took the sippy cup from him and placed it on her own high-chair tray. Saying to him “Thanks… I guess.” as the vullaby began drinking the rest of it down.

“Awww… that was very nice of you Nickster!” said Angelina.

“How adorable!” said Ranae.

“Good choice, son!” said Lonstan.

“Sounds like someone has taken our slogan to heart, you felt bad didn’t you?” the owner asked.

“Ahuh, I rweally did!” said Nick.
“How sweet of you! Such kindness is appreciated around the holidays, especially if Tapu Koko hears about it.” said Kukui.

“Tapwu Kwoko?” the pup asked.

“They are the Guardian Deity of Melemele Island, while they may be fickle and not always help everyone. I’m sure they would appreciate your kindness.” said the man.

“Could we actually visit them?” asked the grass snake.

“Not quite, but they’ve been known to make appearances at random. There might be a chance tomorrow that she’ll appear on the beach.” the owner explained.

“Ooooo!” said the pup with excitement. “I want to see them!”

“Eager are you? Well… maybe they’ll be around the beach in the morning, along with a special visitor: Mister Delibird!” said Kukui.

“Yay! Yipeee!” the pup shouted.

“Oh boy! Maybe I can get some gifts from ahead of time!” said Ritha.

“Not too loud, little brother!” said Angelina as she giggled.

“Sworry…” said Nick.

“It’s alright, I can understand the excitement. It’s rare to see him out and about, in fact… he’s got a hotel room on the fourth floor. He wanted to rest for a few days before making his deliveries on Christmas Eve.” said the owner.

After twenty five minutes had passed, dinner was served as the waiter brought the meals to the table utilizing a gleaming steel dining cart. Everyone started enjoying their food, with Nick being fed by his mother since he was still struggling to pick up his utencils properly. He had made steady progress on it though.

Ritha didn’t actually mind eating her food, but she wasn’t as excited compared to the shiny pup in the high chair next to her. It satisfied her for the time being.

Following up after dinner, the family headed back to their rooms in order to rest up so they could be ready for a trip to the beach in the morning. Nick was changed into a pair of tropical-themed pajamas that his big sister found in the care package provided to them. They had a zipper on the back so it can easily be taken off.

Nick dozed off while being set down in his crib for the night, feeling comfortable in his pajamas. His sister tucked him using her vines, making sure to be gentle during the process. The care package had quite a lot of items, including cloth swim diapers and little swim trunks in different colors.

Angelina watched as her little brother slept peacefully, heading to the second bedroom which was her room while she was staying at the hotel. Her parents had the first bedroom, which was a good thing since they could tend to the pup if something happened in the middle of the night.

While they could’ve gotten dessert at the restaurant, they decided against it since they were already full from the meals they had. If desired, both families could always get desserts at different locations in the city. But for now, all was satisfied.
