Early showing because I'm VERY proud of how this boy came out! I used the base of @TracemSonil 's OC Umbriel because I liked the simplicity of it, and made a cloud guy!
To explain cloud sapients: they are chaos energy constructs, just like chao. But rather than being a broken lineage of aliens, cloud sapients are formed when residual energy from the emeralds melds with water vapor. A certain amount has to be imbued before it can take form, which means clouds are extremely rare.
As of the current age, five types of cloud sapients have been discovered, with each type only having one or two examples: white cumulus, rainbow cumulus, rain, thunderstorm, and noctilucent. Each cloud has a particular personality type and can influence the weather around them.
Rainclouds like Incus are perpetually crying, due to the volatile nature of the emotions stored inside them. They can be 'happy' but not to the point of shifting form, yet despite this seemingly somber existence, they do try to intermingle with pure-hearted individuals. Clouds get lonely too!
The difference between a calm raincloud and an actually upset raincloud is the severity of the weather. A raincloud experiencing heavy emotional outbursts turns harsh rain into debilitating downpours and creates flood hazards.
Those who brave the elements to cheer them up or have fun with them often get gifts in return.
