If one looks closely, Husk is already halfway to owl as it is. That could be their common ground perhaps.

Tuxedo Cat for base form and coloring, Great Horned Owl for forearms and hands (big old claws!), wings and literal tail-feathers of course and those gigantic eyebrows.
