Here's a Roferian character of general original design; Caesar Julius Murdock.
Intended as an insert of sorts into the Rejuve Universe. He's intended to be a Mentor and Teacher for Richter, a volunteer lead at the Liverpool Central Library and a teacher in Birmingham; and at one point was the parent of a Black Letter Penitatas himself.
a little excerpt of dialogue from what will likely be his introductory story!)
"I'm sorry for your loss... and I'm sorry you're in so much pain.", brought Caesar to audibly sigh, even if he didn't do it into the phone intentionally.
"Where's the helpful advice when I need it?"
"There isn't anything I can tell you that you don't already know. I'm afraid there's no quick fix for what happened - much less how you're feeling."
"So... can I at least ask you what do I do now?"
"You cry. You put your head in your hands, or bury that snout of yours in your arms... and you just cry. You let that pain overwhelm you until you write letters to yourself just to sort your own thoughts, talk it out with anyone who'll listen, and bawl your eyes out until you grow weary from it all...then, after a long fight with yourself, you move on. You're mending deep wounds, Caesar. One day at a time."
A twinge came to the lip of Caesar's muzzle, bleeding silence into the call as he laid his forehead against the wall, splaying his fur, "... Do you think I'll die alone?"
"One of us would push you into a rejuvenator before then."
"You know what I mean.", he squinted down at the claws of his toes, "I'm alone. I can't even say I have an empty house."
"You aren't alone... you're lonely. It's not going to stay this way."
Caesar's muzzle contorted, pressing his head into the wall, "I hate myself... more than everybody else must hate me for what happened. I don't even feel like I have my own company - why would I want it?" The sympathetic sigh those words got in return only served to make his trembling paws squeeze tighter.
"Oh, Caesar... you're very good at breaking your own heart. You-..."
"No, just stop.", the Roferian closed his eyes and pressed, restraining his tone as best he could, "Leave me alone. Alright? I don't have anything else to say. Not about myself, not about what hap-..."
"False.", he was interrupted in kind, stumbling over his own tongue to the harsher correction in his ear. Caesar frowned, feeling the sting of his vulnerable, tear-filled emotions creep toward the forefront of his mind as the leg he stood upon faltered.
"I don't need to talk about it.", bled an airiness into his voice that wasn't completely composed.
"False again."
While dead air filled the call, the line didn't close. Caesar clutched it, fighting the vising of his chest and the pain of everything he'd lost, "They're going to take my license from me. I wasn't able to keep a child safe in their own bed. That's no home. Not for a penny... not for anyone. It feels so wrong... like I shouldn't still be alive while they're...", his tainted syllables stumbled before they stopped coming; the sharper sounds of a choked up man becoming the only thing to admit Caesar's deathly anguish and self-blame.
"Only a heartless man would have it easy right now... you're allowed to feel pain and grieve, but everything that happened was out of your control. You - didn't - know."
Swallowing repeatedly to hold back the sob that wanted to escape his throat, "I need it to stop... I feel like I let my kid die... like I killed them myself. I can't live like this."
"You can... and you will, because one day you're going to finally feel like you're 'meant to be'. Even if you feel like you're a glitch in the system for a while, you'll know deep down that you're 'meant to be', and hold onto that feeling until you're ready to be there for others again, doing what you love, and being who you love being. You're always 'all or nothing'; you never go half way. That's the neat thing about you. You'll want to give it your all again... that's just who you are."
The silence returned, only to slip away with a steady breath, "I guess. It still hurts like hell though."
"It sure does, but you'll emerge stronger, and more 'you' than ever. I know it."
Of course! By all means you provided ample detail to help ensure it was as accurate as it may be! You're not wrong he's more than capable of beating an ass!
