I didn't go too creative here. Mimics are pretty flexible in U8, though, they can manifest whatever limbs they want, so if the tendrils don't work, look out, they'll try some other bullshit.
The greater mimic can project illusions of animals, such as rats or cats, to make an area seem more safe to mortal life.
