Gravity Falls is a pretty pleasant town all things considered. Giant beautiful redwood trees stretching across a vast and seemingly untouched wilderness. It's sort of strange that everything is so pretty considering there is a giant, heavily polluting, factory not too far over the hill. The sun might come and go but if you look on the bright side then you will always get a tan.
The giant mysterious lake faring beast is a whole different issue though.
