Joey and Katie walked up some steps to a house where Sasha and Ben lived. Joey knocked on the door and and smiled seeing a tall otter woman standing at the door.
"Hi mom!" Joey chirped cheerfully
"Hello my baby boy" She replied quickly embracing him in a big bear hug
"Hello" Katie replied with a wave
"Nice to see you too Katie" Sasha replied with a smile as she let go of Joey, "Come on in you two" She offered holding the door open for them
The two walked inside and followed Sasha into the living room and sat down on a soft couch.
"So what brings you two here today, would of expected you two be out having fun together" Sasha asked
"Well Joey lost a fight to a kitten" KAtie replied
"A kitten?" Sasha asked raising an eyebrow confused
"Well she wasn't just a kitten" Joey replied
"Why are you fighting kittens?" Sasha asked
"It was at my school" Joey began to explain
"Annnd?" Sasha asked wanting to know more
"Well she wanted to know how strong Joey was" Katie added
"Wait why did she want to know how strong he was?" Sasha asked feeling very confused now
"Well she found out he was your son" Katie answered
"And what does that have to do with how strong he is?" Sasha asked
"Well... she had found a picture" Joey began to reply as he pulled out the picture Esmeralda gave to him and showed it to Sasha, "Apparently you were a princess"
Sasha sunk in her seat and let out a long exasperated sigh.
"Something wrong?" Katie asked confused not expecting this kind of reaction
"Couple questions, how did a kitten find that picture and how do you know about the princesses?" Sasha asked
"Well the kitten was a mew who is also a princess" Katie replied answering the first question
"And I know about them because Katie is one too and has shown me the castle" Joey added
Sasha sighed and shook her head, "Guess I can never leave that life behind"
"Is there something wrong with being a princess?" Katie asked
"Don't get me wrong, I loved being with the other girls, made some good friends there, and learned a lot on how to use my magic skills, but if you really are a princess than you know how dangerous it can be" Sasha answered
"Well yes but that's why we have each other to watch each others backs and stay safe" Katie added
"That's not the only part that's dangerous, life after being a princess can hard. You tend to make at least one enemy who wants revenge, and not knowing when or if they will act is a bit nerve wracking, especially when you want to have a family" Sasha pointed out
"Did that ever happen?" Joey asked curiously
"Yes, before we had you me and Ben were on a dinner date, it was raining that day when we decided to walk. It was originally supposed to be a romantic walk together but mother nature had different plans in mind. Ben luckily got an umbrella from a store, while i stayed under an awning to stay dry. Poor guy was all wet and fur looked silly, but it was still sweet of him" She replied with a chuckle realizing she was losing track of the story "Oh yeah umm anyway, as we were walking along, a hooded figure grabbed him and held a blade to his neck to threaten me" She continued
"Why would he assume he could threaten you?" Joey asked
"Normally you'd have to be the dumbest dumb person to threaten a princess" Katie added
"Well to answer that question, I was a wild child back in the day, I was known as the reaper of the ocean. I used a scythe as you can see, and I would always use a wild flurry of attacks as well as water clones. It made my attacks unpredictable but at the same time resulted in a lot of collateral damage. Basically I would normally be working alone as a result." Sasha answered
"So he was banking on the fact that you wouldn't fight back in fear of hitting your boyfriend?" Katie asked
"Exactly, but after failing the trail to decide the new queen, I took some time before dating to learn how to be more controlled with my magic and attacks" She explained "He did not know that" She added "He did not know I had used my magic to create a water clone behind him and before he could do anything or make any demands I used my magic to sort of, summon myself to where the clone was and struck him swiftly" She told
"Wow, that's amazing, do you think you could teach me that?" Joey asked excitedly "We can try but it might be too much for you. Anyway, that was the moment that I realized I would have to keep a low profile and and basically live in hiding so I could live a peaceful life as a mother and wife" She finished explaining
"So what did dad think about it all?" Joey asked
"Well....it was quite a shock" Came a voice from behind
Ben walked up and leaned up against the back of the couch that Joey was sitting on before ruffling Joey's hair.
"I was honestly freaked out beyond comprehension. I saw the woman I loved in front of me then suddenly behind me holding a huge scythe. Not gonna lie, my brain was screaming at me to run like hell" Ben began to reply
"So why didn't you?" Sasha asked
"Dunno. Was a shock to hear you explain everything, never knew you lived such a life" Ben answered
"Well it was a bombshell I had hoped I would never need to drop" Sasha replied
"Once the shock wore off I was fine, though it was a constant reminder of one thing" Ben commented
"Which was?" Katie asked
"Never ever forget our anniversary" Ben replied
Sasha just chuckled some at that while Katie just smirked at Joey.
"But, that's why I hoped to put that life behind me, I just don't want my family to be in danger because I was young and stupid back then. I made enemies back then and I don't know how many are still around looking for revenge" Sasha finished explaining
"Well if you want we can help make sure nothing happens to your family, there's plenty of us princesses to help keep an eye out for any trouble" Katie offered
"I really don't want to trouble you all" Sasha replied
"Really it's no problem, I'm sure Esmeralda won't have any issues with it" Katie replied
"So she is still in charge?" Sasha asked
"Yes she is, you should come visit her sometime" Katie answered
"I guess it would be nice to catch up on old times and see what all has changed" Sasha admitted
"It is nice there from what I have seen" Joey commented
"It usually is, though.... have you been taking part in their little outings?" Sasha asked looking at Joey
"No..... not yet anyway" Joey answered
"Yet?" Sasha asked
"Well Joey's little fight with one of the princesses was also to see if he was able to hold his own to tag along with me" Katie answered
"And what exactly do you do?" Sasha asked
"Mostly field work nothing too dangerous, mostly information gathering and at times tinkering with machines and repairing stuff" Katie answered
"Well I can't force you to to not go" Sasha replied looking at Joey "But just be safe I already worry myself too much as it is with your little magic school"
"Don't worry, I'll be safe" Joey replied hugging his mom tightly
"Do you still have your scythe?" Joey asked
"I actually would like to see it myself" Katie replied "We don't have a scythe user in our current generation of princesses , so I would love to see a scythe for real"
Sasha looked at them both before getting on up, "All right, I can let you see it. Honey can you do me a favor and turn on the water faucet, it would make this a lot easier if you do"
Ben shrugged and walked to the kitchen and turned the sink on. Hearing the rushing water, Sasha held out a paw and began to use her magic to manipulate the water into her hand. As the water flowed on into her hand, it began to take shape of a large scythe and once fully formed, she used more magic to summon the scythe into her hand.
"I call it water summoning" Sasha replied holding the scythe out for the two to see
"Wow, never thought I would get to meet a scythe user, not a common tool you see others using" Katie commented
"Think I could ever wield it?" Joey asked
"I don't think you will be able to, most magic weapons like this scythe tend to choose their owners, it may not find you compatible you won't ever be able to use it to its full potential, plus I would never forgive myself if you got hurt using this thing. Trust me, it took me some time to really master this weapon, and that's with it choosing me to wield it" Sasha answered
"Plus you already have a sword, no need for a scythe" Katie added
"Yeah but that scythe is so much cooler" Joey commented
"So what's this about a mew?" She asked
"Huh?" Katie asked
"You mentioned that Joey lost to a mew" Sasha replied
"Oh, she is one of the princesses though actually queen of the pokemon world, we also have a Renamon who is queen of the digimon world" Katie answered
"So they have stopped their fighting?" Sasha asked
"Yes, but those two are doing their best put an end to all the bad blood between their worlds" Katie replied
"Interesting, seems a lot has changed since my time then. Might have to visit sooner than I expected" Sasha replied
"Would be nice to see a former princess show on up" Katie admitted
"Tell the queen to get in touch with me then and I will see about a good time to visit and catch up with her" Sasha replied "Would like to hear how the others are doing" She added
