Panel 1: A close up of Val pushing Zyn’s stroller. Zyn looks and acts like an oblivious, drooling infant, kind of zombie like. They are wearing a green shirt, and a white, pink rimmed bib. Val is looking concerned and staring at Zyn, bracing for something sad. Gunhildr the St. Bernard caretaker synth is pushing the stroller with her left hand. She is large, has short, blonde hair swooping up to the right, and an emotionless, blue eyed expression on her face. She is watching the sidewalk ahead.
Caption: Eventually though, our minds must be wiped, and we have to start all over. It’s sad, but it can’t be helped.

Panel 2: Val, close up, looking at the reader. She has a grave expression on her face. Her bright orange spiky hair is swept to the left in a punk style. She wears a white collared, red, victorian style jumper with brass buttons just under her upper chest.
Caption: I need to tell you a story. It’s about the person I admire most in my life.

Caption: Nony is what I call Zyn. It’s like “mommy” or a “daddy,” if you have one of those. Here in Maeria, we have lots of names for parents. Maerians come in all colors, shapes and sizes, as do our families.

Panel 5: (FLASHBACK) Baby Zyn, chewing on their feet in a lying position. ZThey are clad in just a white diaper with blue accents. They are lying on their back in a crib.
Caption: Zyn started their life pretty typically for a Maerian. Most of us begin in a group creche. We’re much like actual babies at this point. We can’t walk, or talk, or do much of anything.

Panel 6: Baby Zyn playing with rings in a daycare looking room. They are wearing a pink sleeper and are sitting in a ring that is helping them sit upright. A baby wolfguar resembling “iconlil-ronnie: is playing on his back in a baby gym. The room’s carpets are blue, and its walls are a lighter blue. There are green hills with flowers painted on the walls. An orange roo caretaker named Marigold is walking through a white, open baby gate with two blue topped bottles filled with milk in her hands.
Caption: We get raised with other siblings, taken care of and taught by caretaker synths, sometimes even other biological Maerians as well.
