Joey was being carried on into daycare one day, being cradled in a large mother otters arms, as Sasha walked on up to the front desk to sign him on in. Joey looked around in the daycare with a wide eyed expression of joy seeing all the toys there were as some other furs were running around playing with each other. As the otter looked around, he could see a wolf looking at him shyly and hid behind a large puppy plush.
"Okay be safe and play nice with the others, mommy will be back after work" She replied giving Joey a kiss on the forehead.
"I will mommy!" Joey replied happily and hugged her tightly
She hugged and nuzzled him softly before sitting him down in the play area, letting him waddle on off to the toy chest. Joey smiled happily as he toddled his way on over and looked inside seeing all sorts of toys and was trying to make up his mind about what to play with first. After some poking around, the otter pulled out a toy train and looked over at the wolf seeing him with a toy boat. Joey smiled and toddled on over to the wolf and sat down beside him.
"Hello! My name is Joey!" The otter chirped happily with a crinkle wag
"Hi, my name is jay" the wolf replied a bit shyly
"Do you like playing with boats?" Joey asked seeing him with the toy boat.
"I like them but trains are fun too but the train is usually always taken when i get to the toy chest" Jay replied
"Does you want to trade toys then?" Joey asked
"You will let me have the toy train?" the wolf asked curiously, as his ears perked on up
Joey nodded his head happily in agreement holding the train out to the wolf. Jay smiled some as he happily handed the boat over to Joey and took the train from the otter and immediately began playing with it. Joey smiled and began to play with the boat, making sail alongside the wolfs toy train, trying to race toys with him.
"Hehe, my train is no match for your boat!" Jay commented playfully crawling along the floor of the daycare faster to to get ahead of the boat
"My boat is unbeatable once i switch into maximum overdrive!" Joey exclaimed crawling faster himself.
The two kept playing happily together, being an adorable pair of fluffballs, before they tired on out some and sat on down on the floor on a playmat.
"Hehe you're really nice!" The wolf commented
"Does you want to be friends?" Joey asked
The wolf nodded his head, and wagged happily, "Yes I would like to be your friend!"
"YAY! Now we can do lots of best friend things, we can play together, eat snacks together, nap together, watch cartoons together, we can share together" Joey exclaimed excitedly listing one thing after another.
The wolf giggled cutely crawling on up to the otter and stuck a green pacifier into the otters mouth, making him blush and suckle cutely.
"Hehe, you talk too much" The wolf commented with a smile and giggle
The wolf hugged his new friend as they both crinkled cutely, as Joey suckled on his pacifier before giving the wolf a blue pacifier to suckle on as well. The wolf accepted it and suckled it, beaming a happy smile as they crawled on off to the toybox to look for any other toys to play with. Joey began poking around pulling out some blocks, making sure to get all of them that he could find before him and Jay began to play with them.
"What should we make?" Joey asked
The wolf began to think some, "Lets see how high we can stack them!"
Okay!" Joey replied cheerfully
They both took turns placing a block as they began stacking them on up as high as they could, till Joey accidentally toppled over the stack. The blocks fells to the floor rolling all over the floor around their feet, as they both giggled some and were about to rebuild their stack when the caretaker for the daycare walked into the playroom.
"okay kids, toys back in the chest and get ready for snack time" A a tall orca woman called out
All of the cubs quickly began to gather up their toys and put them all back in the chest while Joey and Justin began to gather up all of the wooden toy blocks that were scattered around their feet to hurry on up to join the others. The duo soon gathered up the blocks and deposited them inside the toy chest before running up to the others waiting to enter their snack room where there were small plastic kiddie tables for everyone to sit at, as Joey looked and say a cart that had sippy cups of milk and a large plate of fresh baked cookies.
"YAY COOKIES!" Joy exclaimed in excitement
"Cookies are for after you eat your healthy snacks" The orca replied pulling out small paper plates of carrot sticks
"Awww, but carrots are yucky" Another cub commented
"Nonsense, they are good and good for you" She replies and passes out the carrots
Joey poked at one of his carrot sticks with a finger for a bit before picking it up. The otter stuck out his tongue and pressed the carrot against his tongue to taste it but his face began to scrunch up in disgust.
"Once you eat your carrots you can have cookies" The orca repeated after handing out the snacks before giving everyone their milk.
Joey looked around seeing some others munching away on the carrots while others pushed the plate away from them. The otter took a nibble but had a hard time swallowing not enjoying the carrots at all. Jay sniffed them curiously before trying one of them, causing his ears and tail to droop on down with how they tasted. Joey watched the orca as she turned around when a bunny girl accidentally spilled her cup of milk on the floor after removing the top off her cup.
"Don't worry sweetie, I will get this cleaned up and get you a fresh cup of milk but please leave the top on this time okay?" She replied patting her on the head before going to grab some towels.
Joey looked and saw an opportunity and grabbed his carrots before pulling his diaper open and dropped them on inside to hide them. The wolf looked and watched giggling a bit before imitating the little otter, as he too hid the carrots down in his diaper as well. The orca returned not long after and cleaned up the spill before giving the bunny her milk and looked around to see if everyone ate their carrots, seeing everyones plates were clean.
"See? Told you carrots were good" She replied with a warm smile before getting the plate of cookies on out
She passes out the cookies to everyone as Joey and Jay smile at each other having gotten away with it before exchanging cookies.
"Here this one is bigger!" Joey chirped happily
"Yay! You can have this one then this one has lots of chocolate chips" Jay chirped happily as well wagging playfully
They accepted each others cookies and began to nom on them happily, with very happy expressions. Joey smiled happily as he finished off his cookie and started to lick the crumbs off of his paws, as his tail swished side to side excitedly.
"Everyone all finished with snack time?" The orca asked
Everyone began chiming in with a yes, as they got up from their tables and began to line up in front of her as they began waiting to go outside to the playground.
"Okay then, one hour of playtime then it's nap time" She instructed as she opened the door
As soon as the door opened, the cubs all began to pour on out of the door, to hurry up and get to their favorite playground equipment. Joey and Jay ran on out looking for something fun before the wolf pointed to the teeter totter as a suggestion, to which the otter nodded happily. they ran on up and sat down on both ends of the small plastic teeter totter and bounced up and down, both giggling happily in excitement as they came back down to the ground having fun with it.
"I like the part when it goes down" Jay replied with a wide smile
"I like it when it goes on up!" Joey exclaimed as his side went on up in the air
They both kept playing on teeter totter for a few minutes before they looked and saw that the sandbox was available to play in when a couple cubs left it to go play on the swings.
"Ohh lets hurry up to the sandbox before someone else takes the toys!" Joey exclaimed suggestingly
Jay nodded his head in agreement, "Okay let's go!" The wolf got off the seesaw once his side got down to the ground and helped joey get on off before the two of them ran to the sand box. They plopped down in the sand with a soft thud and quickly claimed the plastic bucket and shovel to build sandcastles with, before Joey began to dig a small hole in the corner of the sandbox.
"What you doing?" Jay asked seeing the otter digging in an odd spot.
"We have to hide the carrots, what if we need a diapee change and they find the carrots?" Joey asked
The wolf eeped some after remembering the carrots they hid in their diapers and pulled them out of his diaper before giving them to the otter. Joey took the carrots out of his diaper and dropped them all in the hole and quickly buried them in the sand.
"Wait, what if the carrots grow into a big carrot plant?" Jay asked worriedly
Joey meeped in surprise not thinking about that, "Ummm.... they couldn't know it was us who buried them, right?" Joey asked
"I hope so" Jay replied as the two looked at the spot "Should we find somewhere else to hide them?" The wolf asked
"Ummm I dunno where we can hide them" Joey replied not sure himself
"The toy box?" Jay asked
"No someone might tattle if they saw them in there" Joey replied
The wolf crossed his arms and had a grumpy face, "I hate tattletales!" He replied with a huff
Joey began to think "Ummm..... wait, don't carrots need water to grow into plants?" Joey asked
"I think so" Jay replied thinking some
"Well as long as no one waters the sandbox then they won't grow" Joey replied
"Oh? That's a good point!" Jay replied smiling lots, "I don't think they water the sandbox"
Joey smiled happily feeling confident that they got away with their deception and began to dig up sand from the middle of the sandbox and began to fill the plastic pail. Jay smiled and turned it over and lifted the bucket only to find the sand spilling out and not making a bucket shaped pile.
"Aww it didn't work, the sand at the beach works right why not here?" The wolf asked
"Stupid sand, you are supposed to be bucket shaped" The otter replied whacking the sand with his plastic shovel
"Maybe the sand is broken?" Jay asked unsure why the sand wasn’t sticking together
"Awww.... I guess not... guess we have to find something else to play with" Joey replied as the two of them lowered their ears.
"We can go play on the slide that should be fun as well" Jay suggested
"Okay let's go!" Joey chirped feeling happy again with such a fun idea
The two ran off and continued to play on the various playground equipment, sliding down the slide together as they held their paws up in the air, as the slid down the small plastic slide giggling with excitement. After playing on the slide they took turns pushing each other on the swings before they saw the orca caretaker getting up and calling out to everyone.
"Okay kiddos time to line up!" She shouted so everyone could hear.
There was a collective group of awws as everyone put down their toys and got off the playsets to line up to go back inside for naptime. After making sure everyone was present, the orca led them all inside and gave everyone a diaper check before letting them go into a large room where little sleeping mats were laying on the floor.
"Okay grab a blanket and find a mat to lay down on, naptime will be thirty minutes" She replied
"Can we have a story before naptime?" a little dragon girl asked
"Of coarse, does everyone want to hear the story of the three little piggies?" She asked everyone
Everyone's faces beamed with joy as they all began shouting happily at the story idea.
"Okay then once everyone is laying down on a mat I will read you all the story" She replied
Everyone hurried to the cubby holes looking for a blanket as Joey and Jay ran to the cubby holes and pulled out a couple blankets. Joey held up a buizel styled blanket while Jay held up a fennekin blanket and found a couple mats next to each other. They quickly laid on down next to each other and covered on up getting comfortable before everyone else followed suit. Once everyone was laying down and quiet, the orca began to read the story to everyone.Halfway through the story almost everyone had fallen asleep while the others were still awake listening or trying to stay awake as Joey and Jay were both trying their best to stay up but soon found their eyelids too heavy and soon drifted off to sleep. The two slept soundly as they waited till they could play together more after their naptime, both smiling happily in their sleep having made a fun new friend.
