Birthday's this month and next week.. Yey... Anyways I thought I'd add this figure to my collection, variants are cool.
Painting & Sculpting:
The body is the same as the first version of Mario, with the opened hands, and rough joints, while the head is a retool of version 2 Mario. The painting of the body is a bit off, the legs are a different shade of blue than the torso, the painting of the raccoon ears and tail are nice, and the eyes are oddly detailed, with shading...
Mario's one accessory is the nicely sculpted Power Leaf. But of course, he can't even hold it... :T
Articulation:
As previously stated, Raccoon Mario's body is a retool of the version 1 body, while the head is a retool of version 2. Wrists swivel, bends at the knees and elbows, shoulders and pelvic regions move, and head barely moves. The only new piece that moves is that tail, which can go full 360 degrees.
Closing Thoughts:
Even though this figure isn't too remarkable, it's still nice we have a figure based off of a power up that's not seen as often as the fire or ice flower. Here's to hoping we see more obscure power ups in this line, like F.L.U.D.D, or any from the Galaxy games, or even the Cape Feather.
