In my story, "There's No Way", I use a pair of twin gorilla brothers as bodyguards for a racist Arctic fox. The human protagonist recognizes them and knows that gorillas are only violent when protecting their family. He also knows that, so long as he doesn't attack the fox, the gorillas won't hurt him much to the chagrin of the fox.
