Truth be told, there's a lot of places in the city that can work Ribbon up into a frenzy like this, and Gabby knows this. For this particular day, Gabby was told about a week ago that a pastry factory was going to have a gift of surplus sweets for the pair. Today is that day to go collect them, and Gabby hasn't told Ribbon the reason for the day's venture, which is making her more excited by the second.
Gabby and Ribbon both belong to me!
Artist's note: The 'X' pattern on the roadway is born of a little bit of my headcannon. After it was apparent that these two were going to be residents, the city made an effort to strengthen some of the roadways such that their movements wouldn't render them impassable within a few weeks. While these "crossroads" are indeed able to greatly withstand the hooftraffic to the point where they are slightly below a normal road in terms of routine maintenance, the cost of upgrading a road to a crossroad is so taxing on the budget that the city could only afford to upgrade a few choice roads. Crossroads come with a risk: While regular traffic may use one as normal, it is the responsibility of the vehicle's owner to move it out of the way if one of both of the two are moving along it. For Gabby and Ribbon, it comes with a risk as well: While the roads are supposed to be reasonably clear, there are some situations that can't be avoided, like rush hour traffic, and in cases like those, they'll have to move/plan accordingly.
