no.22: Maleficent - Disney's Sleeping Beauty

There's a lot to be said about the swagger of classic villains and Maleficent has it in spades. While Sleeping Beauty is far from my favorite Disney film I'm fairly certain it's safe to say that it's the Mistress of All Evil that keeps even this film's most diehard fans interested. Spawning remakes based purely around her and outranking the God of the Dead in Kingdom Hearts' canon, Maleficent is the girl boss everyone strives to be and is one of the reasons I chose to make this year's countdown based on viewer participation, it opened the door for ideas I may have never pursued otherwise. On my own, I doubt I'd have ever included Maleficent in a countdown but she's so deserving of a spot, I couldn't pass up the opportunity when it was presented to me!
