Felix the Cat! 🎶
“Being edgy isn’t that easy, Stimpy” ✨

Here’s my fav character of Ren & Stimpy. That was a strange but very iconic cartoon, despite the fame of it’s creator; John Kricfalusi, such a chaotic character!
Putting beside the controversy of John K., I always admired how this toon focused in the visuals, doing very disturbing and changing frames.
In my personal opinion, today cartoons should be less conservative in the way they depict the characters, I think they need more wacky and changing expressions instead of having same static designs. I love many actual american cartoons and the famous calarts face, but it would be cool seeing more experimental stuff.

Not big on calarts style myself, it was pretty much what enabled the lazy streamlined nature of character design and emotion.  Used to be funny when that stuff popped up on it's own, now we just have a style that we can point to and say 'yup' most of the time.

I like it, but seeing it in every single show is a little disappointing. I agree, diferent shapes in body, eyes, etc. always tell you more of the character than just a plain model.
