When taking suggestions for this year's countdown, I wanted to stick with characters I hadn't drawn before, but sometimes the allure to revisit something I've done before can get the better of me, especially when I feel the original is something that could be improved upon. Case in point here with Mimikyu. When I added Mimikyu last it was shortly after the announcement of Pokemon Sun/Moon and I had had very little introduction to the as of that time new Pokemon. As such, it ranked low and had a pretty lackluster picture compared to the rest of that year's line up. Looking back now, Mimikyu has grown into one of my personal favorites and when I got the suggestion to draw it I felt it was high time I did the Ghost/Fairy type justice with a funny if not tragic picture. I laughed at it, but maybe I'm just heartless?
