theres still some shitty things employers can do to union bust if there large enough...case in point MY Company has a policy to handle this IF a store secsessfully unionizes they wait 2 years and then close the location..the entire location...they can afford to do it and just open another one.
IM not fond of unions, but sometimes they are a good idea to protect your interests as a worker, if your emplores not.

Local municipalities really should read the fine print of any big box store that wants to set up shop in their town.
How often do they build a bunch of infrastructure, give taxes breaks to that one corporation, let them run out all the mom and pop stores so there's no grocery stores left within 30 miles, and then the corporation pulls up and out?
I'm 100% with Walmart giving up market share to local small buniesses.
They in particular are the of the true parasites infesting our country and economy.
The solution is to leave no locations left for them to avoid having to negotiate with their employees.

"OH but you see there not closing the store down due to it Unionizing that would be illegal...there deciding that after allowing the unionized store 2 years of operation that it is no longer in the companies best interest to keep that location open and they are Liquidating the store as a result, this is purely a market based choice.
Dont worry the employs will be offered position, at the nearest location to the one that has closed, the company values it's employes.
That store is Not union however but that's ok we are dedicated to providing a safe and equitable work environment with fair and competitive pay and benefits, a Union would only be an unnecessary go between that cannot actually guarantee anything at all for its members."
Yeah... if any part of that make you feel gross..it's because it kinda is gross. Now im not a union guy, but you HAVE a right to unionize and this kinda stuff is just side stepping that right and it's fucking gross.

Little side note on corporate wage discrepancies, when my company closed down our terminal in Minneapolis, they helped the mechanics there get work at another local shop.
That shop being unionized, ended up paying our former employees 9 dollars more an hour.
And our corporate leadership can't understand why no mechanics want to workforce us.
It really does make a difference, and the vast majority of Americans can see it.
That's how labor going to defend itself.
Not by poltical parties, but by unions.

true, true though im a bit iffy on what allows unemployment benefits on one hand allowing it removes the companies ability to hire scabs and just ignore the strike. on the other hand my tax dollars paying for people to not work voluntarily also makes me angry. unemployment is there to protect people from loseing everything thorugh no fault of there own, such as downsizeing termination due to there place of business going out of bussiness ect, Not so my tax dollers can be used to enforece Strikes on demand. there is a RISK to a strike, that risk helps make sure that people only do it when they feel it's really necessary. Its not a cut and dry issue.
and I fucking hate Newsom XD
