In one TV detective series,set in Chicago, closet monsters were to be feared. They were closely related to under the bed monsters ! Certain people, like the team of detectives starring in the episodes, could detect these monsters. Something that lives in the police station walls and a gnome whose crimes go unpunished because he's a good contactee and informant (another regular - he vandalized some garden gnomes once because they "dissed" his people.)
