Beneath the soft pink petals of a cherry blossom tree, a picturesque scene began to unfold. Spring was in full swing, and the warm sun's rays filtered through the leaves as the young family prepared for a delightful picnic on the green grass below.
Their large woven basket, filled to the brim with an assortment of snacks and treats lovingly put together the night before, had spilled its contents onto a hastily unfurled plaid sheet. It was a delightful spread, promising a whole afternoon of fun.
Robby, the oldest of the trio, who sat eagerly with his back pressed up against a sturdy tree, was unable to contain his hunger any longer. His eyes widened and his tummy rumbled as he scanned through the picnic bounty for something sweet to taste, while Zeke, the nimble blue-furred mouse, held out a petite sandwich in their paws for him to try.
Robby, with his characteristic flair for silliness, responded in a playful flourish by opening his mouth as wide as he could possibly muster, inviting Zeke to feed him in a slightly theatrical and childish display. Excited laughter bouncing between them and turning each bite into a whimsical display while their pre-schooler, Raguel, nestled between Robby's legs and embarked on his own culinary adventure.
His little paws clutching an oversized peanut butter and jelly sandwich that seemed larger than life itself, and as he took a bite, a burst of jelly erupted suddenly from the sandwich's corners, creating a colourful and mouth-watering spectacle as it splattered onto their exuberant pet fennec who had just nestled into Raguel's lap mere moments before.
The unexpected shower of colour and flavour startled Fen, whose perky ears stood tall in alarmed surprise. And without missing a beat, Fen transformed the accidental shower into a chaotic, impromptu dance, twirling and bounding amidst the falling cherry blossom petals. Crafting a true, story-book moment that wouldn't soon be forgotten.
This jaw-dropping piece was put together by Xennos and was a gift from us to Zekey for his birthday last year. I absolutely adore it and I hope you do too.
