Goombella, Vivian, Punio, and Yoshi
Goombella: Fun fact there's a little translation error when tattling on dark lakitu. Where she'll say they throw pipes instead of spinies eggs. Also on the Goombella I originally uploaded in furafinty was missing the hair and I didn't noticed it wasn't there until almost a day later. I of course fixed it after finding out.
Vivian: quick fun fact: her original beta design actually had a flame around the tip of her hat.
That aside, vivian's a very interesting character who's belittled by her sisters due to (Language differences) and suffers from self-esteem and shyness. She also gets blamed by her older sister for mistakes that her sister does and is punished due to her sisters mistakes. Thanks to Mario helping her she gets the courage to join mario and later go against her sisters.
So uh...the biggest thing is depending on the language vivian's struggle with her sisters are very different.
The English and German versions just say it's because she's "ugly". Kinda short and simple. And what I growing up knowing, It wasn't until 5/6 years after playing it that I heard...
In the Japanese, French and Spanish version she's actually MTF Trans (From what I'm told, Everyone, not just her sisters refers to her as a effeminate man, but she refers to herself as female.)
The Italian version is a quite different. From what I understand vivan straight up calls herself trans and proud, and while she does still get bullied by sisters, everyone else (to my knowledge) refers to her as female.
Punio: Only fun fact I can think is he's the only Puni that enters the hidden store and thus can interact with Jabble (His jabbi friend) who's hidden in there. He joins the puni but doesn't really impact anything.
While not a Punio fact, it is a puni fact. Supposedly each chapter has their own genre to it. Ex. Chapter 1 is Adventure. Fun fact Punio says something very similar to having an accident if you pick the mean/bully option when meeting him.
Yoshi: He's continuing to keep the title of Champion. I really struggle with Yoshi's head. I also had this problem with the Boshi pic I did.
Hooo boy, do I have stuff to talk about yoshi. (Gonz jr from this point on.)
I'm gonna go fun facts -> stories -> theories.
Fun facts: Depending on how long it takes for him to hatch, He'lll have a different color. (Similarly his egg is uniquely colored instead of a single polka-dot color.)
He's the only playable party member that can be named in any mario rpg. (Although he takes the stage name The great Gonzales Jr. At the end of the game.)
I believe gonz jr., Boshi, baby fat, and Village leader are the only yoshis that have physical features to differentiate them (excluding accessories). Gonz jr seemingly missing the shell/cushion , no noticablle spines in any of their art (although they're making brand new back sprites so it's very likely we'll be able to see them now if they have any.) but having hair, Boshi has fangs and claws. Baby fat and Village leader both being a bit chunkier then the other yoshis, supposedly baby fat was based on fat chocobo. (Makes sense considering who SMRPG was made by.)
Story:
So far all of my Yoshis have been green. The sole exception was one playthrough where I had to go out of my way and reset over 2 times to get a non-green yoshi. I was trying to aim for the Black or white one, and managed to get the black one.
I'v alway sucked at any 'jumps' that require the fluttering ability in TTYD. I wanted draw one where he's laying down in a waterlogged diaper mad that they can't flutter across a gap and keep landing in the water.
Super very Long story :
When I was younger (around age 7. Give or take.) I was still learning the mechanics of games. TTYD was my first RPG game and overall like seventh game ever (and like second Mario game after Mario world GBA version) Later picked up Pokemon Colo as my second RPG and seeing my first evolution (+ previous knowledge of mario world) gave me the very stupid idea that if I fed yoshi I could make them "evolve" just like in Mario world where feeding a baby yoshi 5 enemies turns them big. So I picked up TTYD and fed so many dried shoom to the little guy.
After many shrooms, I tried some mango keels, coconuts. I then discovered that yoshi actually swallows pokey if they use up all their body parts. And yoshi uses gulp on them. (Only enemies that have that effect. Even then i think its a 50/50 of happening. More were planned but was apparently scrapped.) After a lot more then 5 pokeys I gave up and tried reading everything from NPCs to manuals.
That's when I discovered something, in my Manual for Mario world GBA/advance 2, it mentions that they (bowser, i think) trapped all the adult yoshi into eggs. And it made pause to think. Wait, wasn't Yoshi aware outside of the egg that they wanted to cook him? Similarly he managed to hear Mario's conversation outside and even talks perfectly seconds after hatching. Did something trap him inside the egg? Is the reason why he can't "Evolve" because he's already a adult that's super tiny? I just gave up and accepted that answer because summer vacation was nearly over and wanted to finish my game.
Honestly I can't help but find it humorous how simultaneously stupid and smart (well more creative) I was. I'm glad I didn't grow with red or blue because I'd fall for Mew truck hoax and would probably think of the stupidest things to try.
The only silver lining, was i was strong enough for the pits of 100 trials.
Theories-
Honestly iv heard few speculation on what the gonz Jr's color are meant to represent. The one I believe in is the Yoshi story color. Where it features all of the yoshi colors (minus the Orange gonz jr color, but can be explained with the yellow yoshi. Also TTYD is missing a light blue.)
The other theory I heard is, it's based on mario RPG playable characters. Green is based on Yoshi (playable when racing Boshi), Red on Mario, Blue on Geno, Orange on bowser, Pink on peach, White on Mallow. Black was apparently suppose to represent the beetle mania mini game. I actually did belive this one for a while but after thinking about I realized the Yoshi one was a stretch and the beetle mania one was just plain stupid.
