As most of you already know, I recently lost my bearded dragon due to old age.
Spyro was rescued from a bin 12 years ago, when he was 2 his first owner threw him away because he had grown too big and rehousing him in a new enclosure would have cost them more than they were willing to spend on him.
He's been living with me since his rescue.
He's had an active life and has been loved by the whole family, often sunbathing on top of my sister's dog as they both lay in the window.
In the past year he's been refusing to eat his greens and insects. Vet put this down to old age and he went onto a nutrient paste called Dragon Gel along with his normal water. This didn't last long though as he started refusing both 6 months later. On the 5th of September Spyro passed away, my best friend has gone.
I asked if OOO could make a little thing for me and was expecting a little concept sketch or something. In the end he surprised me with this heatwarming and at the same time heartbreaking picture based on an actual photo of me and Spyro together. Thank you OOO.
im sorry for the loss :( I too knew the love of a lizard XD when i was 11 i cought one in the desert outside my home and raised it.. I cought fresh Mole crickets for that little shit he never ate store food I made sure of it XD
to this day don't know what species he was.. a common desert lizard with little spines we called him speedy, because well, he was fucking fast.
He was a character XD
SO I understand your lizard was far more then just a curio to look at and i know how much work it can be to take care of them.
