Background/History
Former football prodigy Victor the Wolf was the son of an important computer scientist who, unknowingly, neglected his son's success in sport, thinking that he should use his incredible mind to study instead to, as he used to say, "waste his time with useless hobbies" and told him that, if he kept living life carelessly, he would regret it. Angered, Victor sneaked in his lab with a few friends to wreck the place to mess with his old man, not knowing that he was studying the Time Stone with Silver, which he kept contained in an elaborate container. As his friends began to destroy everything, Victor was drawn towards the container. But as he touched it, the technology "animated" and assimilated the unaware wolf into it, merging with him and turning him into a cyborg. This scared his friends, who fled and accidentally caused a fire to spark. Victor, using the armor, managed to stop the fire and save his friends, but the lab had been destroyed. His father had heard the lab alarm and rushed there, any anger towards his son vanished as he saw him fused with the future technology, who now spoke to Victor and called itself CY.P.H.E.R. (CYbertronic Pod Holder of Extreme Rarities), saying how its program had now fused with him at a cellular level, causing the desperation and anger of Victor, blaming his father for even keeping something so dangerous in his lab, where Victor was used to come ever since he was a child.
Overcome with guilt, Victor's father called upon Silver to examine the armor and figure out if he could remove it. However, just then, the Eggman War began. Silver was recalled by the Resistance before he could event take a look at the armor but told Victor and his dad to stay hidden to not be found. Sadly, the roboticized hedgehog named E-2441 broke in the lab and kidnapped Vic's dad, making him use the armor to chase the enemy all throughout town. Vic succeeded in rescuing his dad, but had made himself known by the rest of the world, so with little choice and wanting to help he joined the fray of the Resistance. It was thanks to him that the Metropolitan Highway siege was possible, thanks to his ability to connect with Eggman's computer and hack it. An enraged Eggman, however, sent E-2441 to kill Victor, only managing to kill his father in the struggle. Devastated, Victor heavily defeated E-2441, causing his obedience program to break and effectively freeing him from Eggman's mind control, but then the young wolf was left too emotionally and mentally unstable to go forward with the operations. CY.P.H.E.R., who up until this point did nothing more than argue with Victor about what to do (Cypher wanted to do more to protect others while Vic only wanted to get rid of him as quickly as possible) offered Vic to put his consciousness temporarily to sleep, in order to heal from the traumatic experience, and Victor agreed without a twinge of hesitation, letting the AI take over his body with the promise of letting Victor take back control once a year to check if he was ready to take back his life. As Cypher, the cyborg wolf was crucial in fighting Eggman's Army in the final battle and was eventually asked by Sky to join the Runaways team as their tech wiz, which Cypher agreed to do.
