The original sketch was by Gami and I butchered it and then attempted to put it all back together again. Most of the errors here were not quite putting him aligned with the throne correctly and goofing up the height of the throne in foreshortened perspective.

Tvtropes isn't always right, it's a user-editted wiki. Discord's not a "complete monster" and has moments where he appeals to Twilight because he wants to impress her. It's not a completely positive character trait but he's more of a jolly prankster with no sympathy for the boundaries of others or problems with manipulating them than a true villain. He's not the Joker, more like Harley.

He's not evil, he just wants to have a good time and he doesn't really care if its at the expense of others.
He doesn't need to terrorize the whole world in order to have fun and be an entertaining character, he just needs to irritate the hell out of someone on occasion.
And to me Celestia seems like the perfect target for a bit of fun at her expense.
