Bursting into musical tears at old songs may seem like an Irish stereotype, but I really am an easy cryer when it comes to certain songs, Irish or not. Maybe it's to compensate for my inability to drink - as un-Irish as it may sound, I can't make it through one glass of wine or beer before I feel sick. So music is my drug of choice.
Actually, Down By the Sally Gardens is the old Irish folk song that turns me into a real mush. But I substituted Danny Boy here because it's better known. It's more of a cliche, and therefore funnier.
