Pilou frowned as he looked at the green photocopied homework sheet. “Bwo! This is too hard!” He whined in cubish distress.
Milo leaned over his ‘little brother’s’ shoulder at the paper on the small table. It had been two months since the aisle in the toy shop, and Pilou had settled into his new life nicely.
It had been a bit difficult at first. Pilou wanted love, comfort and guidance like any other pup his age, and had latched onto Milo as a big brother figure just as the fox had intended, but he was still troubled by his ‘amnesia’ and the strange dreams of being a ‘big boy’ he had some nights. Milo had done his best to help Pilou suppress the ‘nightmares’, and the cub was slowly starting to worry less about his lack of memory.
“Oh, this stuff’s easy bro!” Milo exclaimed inconsiderately. He had the decency to look guilty as Pilou looked accusingly at him. “I mean once you know how bro.” He amended hastily. “Let me show you how.”
It was a few weeks ago that it had been decided Pilou had adjusted enough to start going to pre-school. He was nervous, as all cubs are on their first day of school, but so proud of his cute uniform that everyone fussed over. There were half a dozen photos of him modelling it—white shirt, blue jumper, charcoal-grey shorts (springy due to the diaper underneath), white socks and velcro trainers—all had him smiling and waving excitedly.
He had been more nervous in the playground, with all the other kids running around wildly. He had clutched Milo’s paw tightly and cuddled up to his side shyly, but his ‘big bwo’ had put a comforting arm around his shoulder and lead him in, and by the end of the day Pilou had had such a good time he wanted to go back to school everyday.
The only downside was homework…
Pilou did it like the good lil’ pup he was. Unfortunately that meant he thought about it, and the more he thought it about it the more he had started to remember. It was up to Milo make sure his lil’ bro didn’t remember things too advanced for his age.
“Now bro… your paw is shaking… relax that letter out of your mind… it’s becoming too hard to remember it now… just let it fade further and further away.” Milo cooed as he helped his lil’ brother unlearn.
Pilou nodded as he listened attentively, but he couldn’t shake the feeling he used to know his ABCs…
This picture was commissioned from HypnoFire86 by Pilou. The cute and confused grey wolf-pup featured is Pilou himself. The older fox-boy ‘helping’ him is my character, Milo. Pilou kindly gave me permission to repost it in my gallery.
Awww :) This is so much like my fursona's relationship with his little friend, Timothy. You never know, Timothy and Pilou might go to the same school, they could ride their bikes together!

Every little cub needs a big brother figure to help, guide and nurture them, lest they get themselves befuddled and stuck. They do seem about the right age to go to the same school. :)
