My interpretation of a rather obscure Irish legend - The story goes that when the sons of the Irish hero Conall try to attack and enter the sacred hill Cnoc Greine (which is a real place) the fairy/goddess Grian changes them into badgers, and they live around the hill until they are found by their second cousin Cormac.
