Background/History
Born in Minnesota, Tina was just a regular, everyday girl with a regular everyday life until one night, she was involved in an accident at the lab she works at, which through use of a molecular transfer ray, merged her molecules with a blue Porsche coupe. Tina's life was completely turned upside down after that when upon becoming too warm, changed into a blue Porsche coupe in front of her mother and father. Tina wouldn't have believed it if her mother didn't show her a mirror. Despite the shock of what they witnessed, Tina's mother did everything she could to comfort her daughter. Her father was far more shocked, and went as far as to call Tina, his own daughter, a monster. That night, Tina left home without telling anyone, and moved somewhere in California.
Tina currently lives in a house of her own, and works part time at her good friend, Alice Kurogane's, lab. Tina contacted her mother and explained her reason for leaving. She is still unsure if her leaving had anything to do with the separation of her parents. Tina continues to regularly stay in contact with her mother through letters, email, and by phone, but has not spoken to her father since the night she left.
The first person in California to find out about Tina's secret, was a scientist who worked the man who developed the original molecular transfer ray, Dr. Thomas Chase. Her name was Alice Kurogane, and she has since taught Tina how to cope with her new way of life, and has been one of Tina's most trusted friends since they first met.
To Tina's surprise, it turned out that Alice was also the owner of the lab she worked part time at.
Tina has since gone through many changes. Both literally and figuratively. She has made a group of friends who she trusts with her secret, and is far more open about how she feels than she was when she first came to California. She is fun loving and loves to laugh and spend time with her friends. She admits that she tends to lose her temper at times, but not terribly often.
Tina's change, whether from human to car or car to human starts, she cannot stop it. She can prolong the change, but only until her strength holds out.
Tina's change is controlled by her temperature. If she becomes to warm or her body temperature rises too much, Tina will morph from a regular human girl into a fully sized, fully functional Porsche. In this form, Tina retains most of her senses and is still alive and fully aware of her surrounding. Tina can still see, hear, speak, and feel. While in this form, Tina is able to start her own engine, adjust her mirrors, turn her lights on and off, work her radio, adjust her seats, work her AC and heater, adjust and fasten her own seat belts, open her doors, pop her hood, roll up and down her windows and even drive herself. She can see her own dashboard at any time, and can even see things behind her through her rearview mirrors. Anything a car can do, she has full control over in this form. She can also allow a person to drive her.
However, even in this form, she still has limits. Upon changing, and food in her stomach is converted in gasoline. Like any car, she can in fact run out of gas is she drives too far for too long. However, she can still keep her engine going and drive if her tank is empty, but only as long as her own strength lasts. Even in her car form, Tina can still feel everything that she touches and anytime someone touches her. While her stamina much higher in her changed state, she can still feel pain. In this form, Tina has to speak using her radio. Whatever she says will come out the radio. Because of the nature of her change, there are certain activities and comforts that Tina cannot partake in.
In order for her to return to her human form, Tina needs to be cooled to a certain point. Things like strong cool winds, rain, shade, cold water, and ice can cause her to revert back to her regular form. This will happen even if she's driving, so she must always care for such things while on the road.
