I like to imagine these 3 couples all came here together to enjoy the lights. But it looks like they got a little distracted. Maybe that was the plan all along.

Couple scenes are a lot harder to generate. Night scenes are also especially difficult to get lighting that looks correct. No matter what I did, the foxes were way to brightly lit. The lanterns are mainly there to solve the problem of making the lighting look believable.
