...you never know who's on the other side. It may just be you. Seems that Icewind has gotten into a bit of trouble. A cursed mirror had the soul of https://www.furaffinity.net/user/immelmann/ Nova, and now it holds the soul of Icewind. Story by me.
It was a calm Saturday morning as Icewind went out to have a day to herself. She stopped at the local antique store to see if she could find any unique items from the 50s or 60s. As she walked in, the old shop keeper waved at the dragon and smiled. Icewind smiled and waved back before she started to walk around the store. She looked at various things, old dresses, record players, dinner sets, until she came across a full length mirror. It had an ornate, yet futuristic frame around it. Despite it's design, it looked old and worn, with flakes of silver missing from the edges, dust and dirt in the corners, and lacquer and paint faded or missing. Icewind shrugged as she looked over it, thinking it must have been a prop for some old B-Movie or stage play. She then started playfully posing and making faces in the mirror, acting like some kind of space fairing Sci-fi heroine she'd seen in those old B-movies. She laughed quietly to herself and stood back upright to start walking away. That's when something in the mirror caught her eye. There was a shimmer and sudden movement out of the corner of her eye. She looked back at the mirror in confusion, trying to see what it was. Nothing happened, so she turned to leave again. That's when another shimmer and movement darted past her vision. Icewind quickly turned her head back toward the mirror and stared at it intently. Her eyes darted back and forth over the length of the mirror. She was determined now to see if there was something there or not.
As she continued to look at her reflection, she began to feel a weird sensation in the back of her mind. It was almost like something was tugging on her. She tried to move away from the mirror but found herself transfixed to in, staring into her own reflected eyes. Soon, she felt like she was floating, like she wasn't attached to even her body anymore. As she watched, her eyes began to change from their familiar cyan to a deep, almost neon pink color. She looked on in confusion as she watched her body change from her familiar draconic body to that of a charcoal black skinned human with silvery hair. They winked at her before the form changed back to a dragoness. Icewind then watched herself move, reaching up to touch her face. But it wasn't her making the movements. She was moving without her control, almost like she was the reflection. She then watched as her body continued to move around, stretching and looking over itself as a smile grew on it's face.
"Mmm, it feels so good to be out of that dumb mirror and to have a body again. And not a bad one to boot," She heard her voice say. Icewind tried to talk bout found that she couldn't speak, she couldn't even move. She could only move when when the "reflection" moved. Her body then puts her hands on her hips and smiled.
"I suppose I should end this little charade. Give you some control," Her body said as she reached out and touched the mirror. In an instant, Icewind found she could move again. Her vision broken from the mirror as she was able to look around. She was now trapped in some kind of empty white void. No up, no down, no left or right, just empty space. Her only view point was the small window to the physical world in front of her. She panicked and reached out toward it, only to find her hand pressing against some sort of invisible barrier stopping her. She put both hands on the barrier and started to push as hard as she could, but no matter what she did, she couldn't get through. She tried to open her mouth and shout at the being controlling her body to let her out, but no sound came from her. She looked out in shock and anger and began pounding on the mirror, her fists hitting silently against it. The being looked on in amusement as they watched her struggle.
"Pound all you like little dragon. You're never getting out of there. You just go ahead and stay where you are while I head out for a while. Thanks for loaning me your body," They said smiling. They then pulled something out of her new pocket. "And you're wallet of course," She said smirking as she opened it up. "Heh. Icewind huh? Well that name is going to change soon. Nova is a lot better anyway. I'm sure you're friends will get used to the new name. Au revoir," She said turning to leave.
Icewind scream in silence as she pounded on the mirror. With each step her body took away, her image began to fade from the mirror, until it reflected nothing but the contents of the store around it.
