Actual truck driver here. It's not as great as the movies make it look. Sure, you get to see a lot of the country, but only from the highway. What you see most are industrial parks. Trust me when I say no one respects you out there. I have had so many close calls because people don't understand my 40-ton death machine can't stop like a car. I mean the job suits me because I've never been a social person, so I don't mind not interacting with people for days on end besides a few words to a cashier. Though maybe whatever forces guide the universe would point a lot of hot lot lizards his way at least.
