It's a weird thing, really. Cody can sometimes show up in places without any hint or warning. He doesn't try to scare people, but when you're alone one moment, and the next moment you have a big marten behind you trying to get your attention, it can be quite startling. So when he and that feisty armadillo he's been chasing and trying to befriend were working their shifts at the animal shelter, he saw yet another chance to try and get friendly with her.

Kinsy was having none of it. She was too busy looking after these birds. But no amount of biting, punches, or threats made him go away before. What made her think a door being slammed in his face would stop him now? Not even he knows how he got there. Unfortunately it frightened the birds.
