Part 5;
Dolly would have never thought it would make so much fun being on the swing. She is still shaking a little from all that excitement! She still feels the wind in her floppy ears.
She asks Dylan what he wants for her to do for him next!She cant wait what adventures task he has for her!
Dylan seems to think about it a little, but then comes up with the idea of reading dogs in space for him.
Dolly is visibly dissatisfied with that answer.
“Ewwww... nooooo!”
But Dylan pulls Dolly by her arm and drags her into the next room. There he presents her a pillow pile of the finest collection of cushions in the house!
“We can make it us comfortable here” he says with a shy undertone.
Did Dylan plan all of this?
Dolly wants to tell him, that she rather wants to do something adventures before the day is over, and she doesn't have to listen to him anymore.
But before she can speak her mind, Dylan pulls something from under the pillows.
It is Dippy, his old plush he had since they were very little. But now… its once firm head is being held by some old tape onto its body.
She regrets destroying it sooo much… She didn't think about what she was doing at that moment… like always…
Dolly suddenly realizes that she actually never apologized for it…
“Hey Dylan… I….”
But Dylan ignores her, his eyes focused onto his good old friend. As he lays his head on the side, starting to smile, sinking into memories; dippies head falls off and hits the ground.
“*sigh* I always had Dippy with me when someone read me a story… He always comforted me, that way I could listen to every story.
I mean, I am old enough that I do not fear any story of course… but… I still have to admit that I still like cuddling with him… It gives me comfort.
But, it isn't the same anymore… until… well…”
They both just stand there for a while… no one able to say anything to each other...
But finally the silence is broken.
“Hey… bro… gimme him”
She grabs Dippy out of his paws, and leaves the room quickly. Dylan is still too sad to do anything about it, and just sinks his face into the pillow pile.
Dylan doesn't know how much time passed, but suddenly something fluffy boops him onto his shoulder.
As he turns around in curiosity. Dolly is standing over him with Dippy on her paw. She sewed its head back on with a few patches. It might be a bit rough looking, but Dylan doesn't care! His eyes are sparkling!
Dolly moves the mouth of Dippy with her paw, and speaks to him in her best adorable dinosaur voice she is able to do;
"Hey Dylan why the long face? I thought you wanted to read a story with me! And I miss our cuddle sessions, but please! Keep me away from your crotch area! Eeeehm... RoAr...he-he? "
It is obviously very uncomfortable for Dolly, she turns slightly read when confronting him with that imitation.
Dylan gets up in an instant and embraces Dippy with a tight hug! Well, actually Dolly's arm.
“Hey bro! chill, you are breaking my arm haha!" Dolly yells in laughter.
“And you are choking, ME! Roar!” Dylan muffles while still embracing dollys arm.
They both can't stop laughing from pure joy for a quiet a time!
The next we see of them, is them being comfortable together on the pillow pile. Dolly reading the reboot of Dogs in space with such passion and energy!
And Dylan? Well Dylan is absolutely fascinated by his sister. He could have never believed that she is capable of such an incredible reading performance!
He doesn't even notice when he slowly looses his grip on Dippy and instead lays his paws on Dolly.
Dolly seems to not notice it, but when she looks over the book and into Dylans perplex face. She stops to read and get a wide smile instead.
“You know what, Dyl? This dogs in space, whatever… Is actually pretty cool…”
